I can't even take this fully seriously, because the guy's obviously deranged. Still, it's pretty darn despicable, and it frightens me to think there might actually be people who think like that.

I'm pretty sure this is a troll aritcle from Roosh. After all this was in the first paragraph "... so I carefully examined the articles on Salon, Buzzfeed, and Huffington Post that were written by professional journalists who pursue truth and justice over mass hysteria and delirium."

Roosh also had a video follow up.

Jonesy89: I gave up on my family the moment they start spewing homophobic bullshit the moment no known gays were listening. At best, they would be disgusted with me, at worst... well, let's just say that I think that the ending where the main character gets punched in the face by his dad isn't out of the realm of possibility for me, to say the least.
Brasas is right, they may surprise you, though I suspect he was hoping for a more noble motivation than the one I'm about to provide - some parents have a way of compartmentalizing hypocrisy that allows them to continue their reign of homophobia while giving their own kids a pass.

Yeah, I saw that video too before posting but his thinking is still awkward (not sure it's the right word as I don't speak English). BTW, when you read, his "welcome" post on Reaxxion, you can clearly see the guy has an agenda that has nothing to do with journalism ethics/policy (nor with games and even picking up girls...). He's just the MRA version of AS, better at antagonizing than uniting.....

The mother was a bit of a control freak. And not enough choices for answers. I stopped when she asked "which one is the woman". There should have been a fourth choice like - "Ok. Thats it. I'm leaving!" And the way the text moved made me feel a little nauseous ... and is it really a game ...tic toc tic toc ... ;-)

It's a story where progression is directed by player action. It's very much a game. Whether you like it or not is another matter.

As for the mother throwing up... I actually didn't mind not having the final option of leaving. Since the player is meant to embody the free will of the PC to the extent that the PC is willing to take a certain course of action, it makes sense to not have certain options available. Here, the character is trying to either come out to both parents or stay in the closet; since the 'which one of you is the woman' thing happens before the father coming home, I can understand the character being reluctant to leave prior to interacting with the father.
