catpower1980: Pretty much that... I'm already putting my Gil Evgren artbook in a safebox before it gets burned :o)
Bee-stung lips and panty flashing. Shocking truly shocking LOL.

viperfdl: Found following video on Cheezburger.com. After the first few seconds it was pretty clear in wich direction this would go:
ABC News Takes on Gamergate
Youtube social commentator Sargon of Akkad critiques that abc hit piece, to pieces. Sometimes his videos can be a bit rant prone but with this one he stays on track. Pretty much everything and anything you might want to say about it he says. It might be a good idea to take notes for future reference when fightin' the f*ckin' power, as it were. ;-)

catpower1980: So to come back a little bit to the thread...

I've just read a very cool article about the making-of of a pulp poster for an "escape the room" type of game. Interesting if like me you dig those book/movie covers from 40's to 70's:
http://gamasutra.com/blogs/RyanCreighton/20150115/234206/The_Anatomy_of_a_Pulp_Crime_Poster.php

Then first comment:
"The first thing that caught my eye with the poster was the cleavage, and my mind went to "sigh, more objectifying pictures" but the male was equally undressed, and both were frightened. This is rare to see. It's often, like you said later on, that the male is actively defending against the threat while the female is victimized (sexism)."

I won't write something because it will reach the godwin point :o)
The Man's Life magazine cover with the turtles is hilarious.
Wow. That Nightline bit was horrendous.

Sigh. At least we can expect these kinds of people to go extinct soon. I mean, there's no chance they got to procreate with such a stance on sexuality, right?

I wish I could share your hope... but if I look around...

My brother proposed the theory (after he had been an exchange studend in the US) that Americans procreate through proliferation. Sex is taboo and most people are incredibly big.

Where the hell did your brother hang out? With the Amish?

That's the bizarre thing about America. People from other countries seem to have this idea that since Americans are so sensitive about sex/nudity in media, they are sensitive about sex/nudity in real life. That's not the case.

Even as someone who went to a Baptist college, I still had a close female friend (who was Mennonite, actually) who ended up doing nude cam shows online and having a baby out of wedlock.

We're not prudes, we're just hypocrites :P

No offense but its the news agencies you guys have to endure there that are at the heart of this. When they aren't looking into ''who'' 4chan is, they're pursuing idiotically stupid money motivated shit like this. Indians are even more conservative. Butt they also practice it, which is even worse.

honestly taking anything from 4chan seriously is a sign of ignorance

4chan is a site where people basically role-play as an internet character and post b8 on their topic (looking at /v/ alone we have among others the Xbone fanboy, Pc mustard racer, nintendodidnothingwronger, anythingpopular haters, etc)

And this they call "journalism"? I haven't even seen the whole video yet. I was too flabbergasted to continue when they made a big issue of the fact that in GTA V you can kill prostitutes. OMG! That game must be made by people who totally hate women! SMH... It's a goddamn sandbox game about the criminal underworld. You can also drive through the town, killing every black person you see, so I guess that means the makers are also incredibly racist, yes? In fact, now that I think about it, this pen on my desk lets me draw a picture of Satan if I so wish, so that must mean that the people who run BIC are Satanists.
