It's basically a fringe group of lunatics and their supporters versus those from rest of the world who care about video games enough to speak out. The only way the other side can keep a conversation within the safe confines of its mad little world is through censorship, seclusion, and circling the wagons.
GOG, of all places, has a pretty smart and kind community. Even people here who speak against the gamer side mostly remain polite and rational... On the other hand - the community backlash against anyone throwing dogmatic insults around would've been both relentless and civil. No more surefire way to lose any clout in the discussion, than by insinuating people hate women... or trying to make being a "nerd" an insult.
Uhhh ... I just came here thinking that Gamers Gate had some new promotions that I hadn't heard about.
*slowly backs out of the room*
