Solid explanation and i can also understand why the smarter crowd is here, i think many of us were somewhat disappointed by the newer games and DRM systems which means we started thinking for ourself a lot sooner, and not listen to the press or publishers. (or at least a lot less) {MY THEORY it can be wrong ;P} hey get back here! no matter where you stand it is an important topic that could shape the world of gaming for years to come.

Take everything this guy has to say with a dollop of salt. Notice how his partners are all Fox News, and in other circumstances he'd be first to smear shit at anything gaming.

But here this guy is smearing the gaming "press" not gaming, which are very different things.

He's smearing what he deems "leftist". He has no skin in this game. He's a general-purpose right-wing blogger, who sees a juicy target for right-wing sensationalism. He does not have the interests of gamers, gaming, freedom of expression, or any other remotely noble cause in mind. Feel free to read but stay highly sceptical of anything he says.

He's actually made a concerted effort to get past his preconceived notions and try gaming since this whole thing started. I heard he even did a live Twitch stream of him playing Portal 2 and Hatoful Boyfriend.

It's pretty obvious that he only got involved in the first place because it was an opportunity to push his politics onto people who wouldn't give him the time of day otherwise, but actually experiencing the medium firsthand may pave the wave for some less reactionary and sensationalist pieces about games in the future from his "side."

I don't know anything about him and I've mostly steered clear of his gamergate articles since there seemed like there was an obvious agenda behind them. Still, I will be very interested to see what comes from this.

A lot of people want the journalists in question to release the chat logs to the public. Which I'd be very interested to see. I'm sure they aren't going to be very willing to release them, though, since they know that people will jump onto any possible hint of underhanded dealings :P
