Lots of great games, but all except the Tex Murphy series are 3rd person adventures :) This thread focuses on 1st person adventure games specifically. (Nevertheless, GOG should get Neverhood here)

The same studio created another great game, Outcry. The story is that your brother is a genius scientist who invites you to show you results of his great project, but when you arrive he is not there and you find only some notes concerning experiments about disconnecting the mind from the body. Very atmospheric, keeps you going on and on to find out what the hell happened to your brother. Mixed puzzles, including both inventory-based and mechanical ones. I was lucky to find a sealed copy on eBay a few years ago. As always, GOG get this great game here Outcry

My only positive experiences with this kind of games was from scriptwelder. I have fond memories of the Don't Escape and Deep Sleep series. If you are curious, check it out link

ASA: A Space Adventure is a slightly surreal FP-P&C-AG somewhat inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. I believe there are some sequels now as well, although I have yet to play them.

The 7th Guest was probably the first such game I played. Amazingly creepy atmosphere and a great soundtrack to go with it. It's a pity the sequel (The 11th Hour) was such a big step back in a lot of areas.

Definitely one of my most wanted games (still haven't got it, but as I see there are DRM-free options on Humble Store & itch.io as well). I like the fact that the developer's description refers to RHEM :)

The 7th Guest is a legendary game. My feelings are mixed, in the sense that I love it and hate specific puzzles at the same time :) The 11th hour was way too abstract and bizarre in logic for me to keep playing.

OK, time for another blast from the past.

Aura: Fate Of The Ages
This game was released back in 2004 (wait, it's been 15 years already??) and has been one of my favorites for a long time.
The story is that you are a young apprentice summoned by some elders to protect 4 artifacts from getting into the hands of the game's villain. These artifacts can activate some rings that allow people to magically travel to other worlds as well as create new ones. During the game you travel to 4 different worlds, each with its own theme & puzzles, in order to find the corresponding artifacts.
Visuals are excellent (for the time) and the music/ambience is nice and never distracting. Movement is node-based, with 360 degree view around each node.
Puzzles are mixed in type, there are inventory based ones and even more mechanical ones. Something that annoyed people back then was that the game also employs a few audio-based puzzles, which some people found very hard. To be honest, I liked those puzzles a lot and their solutions are much more logical than 1 or 2 other puzzles in the game.
This is another of the games that were published in the glorious days of The Adventure Company. As I see now the publisher is THQ Nordic. GOG, would you mind getting this game here? THQ Nordic is already a "friend" of ours :)

Can't believe I forgot about this one, but The Eyes of Ara. I bought it on Humble a while back and made it to the main hall, but put it aside since I was playing something else and have yet to go back to it. I would definitely buy it here if it came to GOG.

I had read about this about 2 years ago, I think I'll buy it to support the guy who created this on his own. Some mixed reviews as I see, still, I hope to be able to play it at some point.
