phaolo: Cool but.. the first people who enter the areana have no chance to win if they'll have to fight against everyone else O_o
Luck of the dice but I have thought about the four main prizes and will be asking a question later on how to best resolve the issue.

Doc0075: McCadbury picks up the the chocolate bar and chomps down on it. He immediately regrets his decision and looks properly at the wrapper "Hershey's! You've poisoned me you vile little goblin!"
"Hershey's!" OK, that was too funny. :-D
The Generic Superhero and McCadbury fight gave me Junji Ito vibes.
How Mother of all mother in law will win her fight this time?, the last 2 she had no difficulty and she didn't even fight :)

So I need some feedback on how to select the winners of the four special prizes. It was originally going to be the the last four contestants but with the Royal Rumble event, that is not fair as the last people to enter will have a much greater chance of winning.

I am thinking of using random.org at the end of the fight to select who gets the special prizes but should everyone be in with a chance or just those who qualified for round 3?
i think you dont need to be hold justice. its just fun and luck of dice.

let them go for royale rumble.

it is the giveaway not contest to be all equel

it is just for fun. may dices deside who are the last fighthers on arena

Mm.. maybe you could do 4 subgroups in the Royal Rumble, and the winners of those will get the extra prize.
It's like you make fighters enter from the 4 corners of the arena and they'll immediately fight with each other.
Then the 4 survivors will have a final showdown in the center to determine the ultimate winner.

In this way, the people with the unlucky roll will have to win a max of 7 fights, instead of the impossible 31 (plus the last battle).

Just those who qualified for round 3. The final four should win the prizes, there is no "fairness" as its all random dice rolls anyway. Let's stick to WWE rules!

Well, the dice mechanism was the method on which the event was based, and as we often conclude in luck-based games, RNG just blindfolds its eyes before taking spin and shooting forward. The Royal Rumble simply amplifies the visibility and speed of the dice rolls... the odds for each roll of each contestant never actually changed. The storytelling is what gives it substance, and the subjective feeling of "not feeling fair" is a sign that it is being well-written ^^

I'd say it would be fairer to enter only those who qualified to round 3, in keeping with the consistency of the dice rolls up to this point.

I was under the impression that it will be the winners of the Royal Rumble. I wouldn't say that the entry timing of the contestants is unfair, since it was decided with the luck of the dice, as would how the winners be selected in the latter scenarios that is proposed. If you feel really bad about it, you could roll for everyone who has qualified for round 3.

But damm, these fight events are awesome! I've just got to say it again! *^_^*

I think dice should be consulted
Everyone enters for four prized chance, but people who got into round 3 got -3, people who only reached round 2 -2 penalty, and people who didn't make it to round 2 no penalty.
Four winners should be those who won biggest number.
You can use various number of dices for each round, 3 dices for round 3, 2 dices for round 2, one dice for round 1, but then you need to calculate penalties.

I think it should include only those who qualified for round 3, even if it means that my character won't have a chance since he didn't qualify for R3. This sounds more fair to me, since it gives more "weight" (as in "value") in the battles that preceded.
Ok, that was fast, I'm not sure if Generic Superhero really knows the point of having super speed but he certainly managed to get kicked out of round 3 in a flash...

Since you used dice rolls to determine the last people to enter, I think it's just as fair for them to win, as any other method. Those who enter early just get to find out for certain they didn't win the grand prize a bit earlier than everyone else, with a tiny bit of hope to outlast the odds, like Jack the Knack is doing.

In the end I don't think it matters much, though. It's your giveaway, where half the joy is simply in participating, and the "regular" prizes are already amazing beyond words. So, go for whatever you feel happiest with. Rerolling for everyone in round 3, for everyone who entered, picking the characters that rolled worst, or best, or who gave you most joy to write. It's all fine, and when all's been said and done, I don't think anyone here will have any cause to complain. :)
Everybody will have the same chances to get the regular prizes, so I think it's fine to grant the big four to the winners of the Rumble. And ut'll make the Rumble a lot more dramatic to read!

Perhaps give an extra prize (since there is an excess anyway) or chance (even pick first?) to whoever stands for the longest number of fights in the Rumble. That way going first is an advantage on its own too.
