russellskanne: The promo (https://www.gog.com/promo/promo_launch_evil_within) is strange:
EW1+EW1 DLCs + EW2 + EW1 Bundle + EW1 Season Pass = 31,64 €

WTF?
Won't be the first or last time. GOG has been doing this nonsense for years.
So just to confirm, does this include all the gaming content (minus the soundtrack DLC)?

1. The Evil Within + Season Pass
2. The Evil Within 2

So the second game doesn't have any DLC, and apparently isn't getting any either, being a 2017 game?

It is indeed odd that e.g. for me the first game with the season pass is cheaper (5€ + 3.99€ = 8.99€) than buying the Bundle which also includes the base game and the three gaming content DLCs (9.99€). What is the point of the "bundle"?
An interesting and fun series. Surprised to see these on GOG. I'll gladly pick these up for my archive!
GOG, come on...
I have no idea what should be purchased from this page to own full content of the games and what's the exact difference between at least 3 different ways to complete the series.

Nobody kows but it seems to be the same for everybody so far.

Evil Within 1 = Base Game
Season Pass = 3 DLCs for Evil Within 1
Evil Within Bundle = Evil Within 1 Base + Season Pass aka 3 DLCs

Evil Within 2 does not seem to have any DLC available.

So yes, in theory getting Evil WIthin 1 + Season Pass + Evil Within 2 should give you all for the best price.

Quick google search showed that in fact there does not seem to be any DLC for The Evil Within 2:

Unexpected release!
Instabuy!
Very nice to see that Bethesda is sticking to their path.

nightcraw1er.488: Just to add, the first one really controlled quite badly. Also, several graphical annoyances, it wouldn’t fit the ultra wide monitor for instance. Would recommend the second one, not the first.
Well you both say things similar to the ones I heard in review. Thank you both very much for response!

I remain skeptical towards idea of enjoyable modern open world horror game, but I guess I could give it a shot. It could be a pleasant surprise.

fronzelneekburm: Rogue Warrior

Mobeeuz: Good god man! Other than the ending credit song, that game was awful.
I actually agree about Rogue Warrior having its place on GOG. Even the Room has its audience.
Now Silent Hill the Room, that's a different story...

GOG.com:
Wow, that's great! And with achievements! Yesssss /s
Those games are great and so I already have them on steam and unfortunatelly don't have money right now to rebuy them so I guess I'm going to have to wait for drm-free for myself for now :P

What about preorder DLC tho?
The first game had The Fighting Chance Pack ( some shotgun version if I remember correctly ) and the second game had The Last Chance Pack ( another version of pistol among other more minor things ) - both had some gun models NOT available in those games otherwise.
And the thing is they were not actually preorder exclusive. You cannot buy them on steam but they were ALSO included in day 1 editions of the games - and you can still get those on the market here and there.
So are those DLC included here?

Also what about the demos? Will we see them here?

avatar
Specop564: Yeah, kinda surprised the bundle doesn't come with the soundtrack.
The soundtrack got released on steam only very recently and it is not a part of a game bundle on steam either.
Also shame it is mp3 only ( and steam allows flac too yet there on steam it is mp3 only as of now ).

avatar
Zetikla: Is this version actually playable or its the same old same old?

TEW2 for example was notorious for being borderline unplayable at times, regardless of your rig
If you mean repeatedly reported problem with it not loading GPU to full and only using like max 60 % then yes - don't count on this being fixed. If they EVER fix it then they will do that on steam too ( and so far they have not ). So right now it's really only stripped from drm and some steam api replaced with gog api and that's all.

avatar
XYCat: Are those DLCs worthwhile or necessary for the story?
Those are actually very important from story perspective and they explain a lot of otherwise peculiar stuff that you would otherwise have to guess. They literaly bridge both games in terms of the story so generally they are really important ( and so I don't udnerstand why people often disregard them ).

2 is better than 1. I think I said this previously in a thread here, possibly one talking about how unlikely these games were to ever appear on GOG (crow tastes delicious!), but the first game suffers from nostalgia creep. Or some term similar to it. It plays out like games previously made by the man who fronted its development, but less enjoyable than those games. Every time I experienced a "this feels like Resident Evil, only... less fun" moment, for example, helped drive home that I did not like the first game.

The second doesn't, to me at least, suffer from that issue. It's as if a few hardcore horror lore nerds got locked up in a room and decided they were going to cram in references to everything ooky spooky under the sun into the game. The result feels much more like a game that stands on its own feet, which may seem counter to it referencing so much stuff like the obnoxious internet nerds who leave comments on YouTube videos like "Hey! I get that and where it's from! Few people will!!1", but it really does play out as a better experience and not some mash of Mikami's greatest hits that turned out to be a bit overhyped (ugh, I still remember the television ads) and kind of mediocre.

Of course, this may ring hollow from me given that with the dwindling amount of "rainy day"/"so, you've decided to accept the apocalypse" funds I had available to me, I bought the first game and not the second, but the first was the cheaper deal.

So that's what I just bought then.

Now the promo page marked everything else owned, except "The Bundle". Oh well, I guess I will remember not to buy it by mistake later.

Wow that Evil Within 2 seems gigantisch, the offline installer is in 9 parts. Oh well, bigger hard drives...

Few months ago Bethesda already brought Dishonored series to GOG store and now The Evil Within series, It looks like Bethesda becoming DRM-free friendly like Focus Home Interactive (AA publisher) also has brought many titles to GOG store Example: The surge series, Styx Series, Greed Fall etc...

Hopefully Bethesda release more titles to DRM-free store places :)

You may not prefer DRM-Free, but pecunia non olet. Let's hope it'd be profitable enough for them to push publishers to the next releases.
was the PC version ever fixed? There was quite a bad game ending crash at the end of an early chapter.

I prefer to own games rather than licenses and STEAM has tons of Denuvo titles which is cancerous to gaming industry
