Themken: Why? They work by trying to collect all kinds of well done photos for companies to use for a small fee. Calling a professional photographer and ask them to go out and take some suitable pictures will cost them manyfold, especially if they want the pictures fast.

GameRager: Good point, but they could provide lesser quality versions of SOME images for free to be nice to those who might want them...or release very old images to the public(as the same or even lesser quality). That way companies could make money from those who want the best quality versions and over a good period of time and others could also be happy.

Also as for cost: Does digital photography(beyond initial equipment costs) cost that much when averaged over time?
An example: My last photography job on a tv series was $50/hr on set/location. In studio was $100/hr

GameRager: Can you mute it? If so simply do so and browse while you wait or do stuff irl to pass the time......problem solved(mostly). :)

clarry: Nah, if I have to wait a minute before I can check out what's going on the stream, I've already lost interest. And I certainly don't want to wait over and over again when the stream craps out and I refresh.
This is an actual with Twitch in general and a key reason to why Twitch/Amazon fails any users without a major following. Switching channels to find a new streamer is a slow and painful process. Hopefully Amazon losing ninja to Mixer will make them see resting on key names is not how you grow a service that requires fresh blood.

It's not hyperbole. You can't rely on a small percentage of people to carry your brand when you have zero control over them beyond the TOS on your platform. There's nothing on Twitch that allows/helps users to grow for the most part, which is another reason why the likes of Dlive and Mixer attracted more new users over the last few months/year.

The rollback on Twitch prime being ad-free was a step backwards in allowing users to grow their reach.

I meant the bit about switching channels being painful and slow was a bit hyperbolic, not the other bits...sorry about not being more clear on that.

Also it's more around 60% or so, but I get what you're trying to say. Regardless, I only did it to point out that switching channels and waiting a minute(to me) doesn't seem a big enough deal.

Outstar wanted to focus more on both her own stuff being an indie game developer (working on her game Cold Hearts and doing gamejams) and her own Twitch channel (her channel was partnered in 2017 as a creative/variety streamer). As far as game streaming, she moved that to own channel. In 2018, she took the opportunity to shorten her Twitch name from Outstarwalker to just Outstar. She also started posting more on her YouTube channel.
Outstar wrote a long post about her story on blogging site Medium.
Recently Outstar has been extensively covering VtM: Bloodlines 2 (and Cyberpunk 2077) on her YouTube channel with some in-depth lore analysis.
Currently she is also pregnant with her and her husband's first baby (expecting to arrive this September), which has put her livestreaming on hiatus since the end of July.

All in all, Outstar has been busy with her own things.
