Hah! The old link is still quoted in my post so you haven't stopped me from enjoying my favourite 404 page. Moahaha!
I will not take any list about the best Brewers in The World that is dominated by brewers from USA seriously. (Looking at the bottle of Staropramen in my hand and thinking WTF?!)

Oh and yeah there are many very nice Czech dark Beers too. It's just that the British and Irish make so darn tasty Ale. :P
Edit: I just realised I probably insulted a lot of Irish people now. Is there a word for both The British Islands and Ireland? That's what I'm aiming at.

If I were to say what I like best by country/region, it'd be Belgian and Scandinavian beers - possibly because those are the beer countries I'm most familiar with. Both Norway and Denmark have some very, very good microbreweries. I don't think I've ever had any Swedish beer, other than the most boring ones.
Re: Guinness. I have never been fond of Guinness. It escapes me why people enjoy it so much. I find the taste to be lacking for a stout, and the body is thin and watery. So many better stouts out there.
Edit: Forgot to say, UK and Ireland also produce some mighty fine beer.
