orcishgamer: Damn, you can't post here midweek unless you're drunk. I needed an excuse to join someone. I'm going to go drink alone now:(
strixo: dude.
Keep that chin up, little soldier!
ran out of clear rum. And work sucks, big-time. And a 7-year itch and all that came to a head yesterday. So....
2 parts sky vodka (or any clean, neutral)
1 part kahlua
ice
i have no cream. always reminds me of Naked Gun 2.5. Yeesh.
Good drink but out of Kahlua, will console myself with a single Islay malt scotch. It's not very good as single malts go but kicks like a mule so I cut the first glass with a bit of water and then drink the rest normally.
I think they invented strip clubs for treatment of the seven year itch, or maybe they're for divorced dudes, not sure:)
Fantasysci5: I wish I had some alcohol...:( All out right now, and no money, since I've been buying from all of these game sales.
It's best to keep a well stocked, doesn't cost that much once you got it all. For wine, learn to enjoy dry white (which honestly tastes better, anyway) with no added sugars, that way people won't drink all your wine either (unless they're refined!).
A couple tender buddies told me just to budget 50 bucks a month for a nice bottle of liquor and 10-20 for 2 bottles of well. Mixers are cheap if you keep em at the back of the fridge they hopefully won't get used except for drinks (I freaking hate Coke, so at least it doesn't get used up here, except for company). After 2-3 months start using it, take some of the 50 to replenish what you use out of the well. Only serve the nice stuff for the first drink to special company (or for yourself) so it'll last for a bit. By the end of the year you should have a nice bar at home.
If you have teenagers, I don't care how much you trust them, mark your bottles.
