Tarm: the sweet spot between ordinary and dark beer.
We call those "Altbier" and Düsseldorf is famous for this.

One of the best dark ones I drank was from Freiberg if I remember correctly, its somewhere in Sachsen/Saxony.
It's called Freibergisch Bock Dunkel.

Try "Märkischer Landmann", it's made in Berlin and may fit well into this picture.

Although I have to say, that quality differs from year to year more than it did in my youth.
I wonder what happened to quality control in Germany but since it's organic I can tolerate this.

Here hard liquor is the thing. It's not a coincidence that Absolut Vodka is from Sweden. We're in the Vodka belt. :P

I never understood how anybody can enjoy Vodka and why it's so popular (even here), I can understand the appeal of 60€ single malt (had some more expensive ones 10 years ago, Scapa was my favourite) but you only drink this drop by drop anyway.

Visiting Düsseldorf is an interesting experience anyway, it's the Japanese enclave in Germany and a large part of the town is completely Japanese (where nobody can really speak German OR English), I was there with three people which were able to speak Japanese fluently and we even were in a typical restaurant with huge bowls of soup and hentai mags right at the entrance. xD

I had a few beer and some wine at my dad tonight with a most excellent steak for dinner. I previously did some shopping for food and I am now rather broke. I'd like to eat every day until the end of March so I probably won't be buying any alcohol for a couple of weeks.

The name of the game till the end of March is called mooching from friends and family.

6 litres of cider so far, and I nealry bought WoW wod, was listing to ' a perfect circle' always played this music when doing dungeons, and raids..

I'm too old for this game now, doubt I'll ever play it again. but I have good memories of it..

We just like to get really drunk fast and then hard liquor is the best and cheapest choice. I'll elaborate more later, maybe because now I'm busy having a drunk time of the day. :D

Oh man it's kinda too late perhaps to do a proper survey on the net, gonna finish this glass, hit a 2 hour work gig a bit dazed and come back home and see what happens :)

Emob78: Try the Age of Pirates games. They're made by the same team that did Sea Dogs. Bit buggy, but still fun if you can get them patched up and running.

Personally, I like a good, chilled vodka because of: Nice flavor, nice warm feeling on the way down, and fun, perhaps therapeutic effects. I've never had a really good vodka either, though. I've topped out at around 37€

I certainly dig some A Perfect Circle songs; never played WOW though... Is that really a game you grow out of? In my opinion, many games are timeless. I still love Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Picked up a Blue Moon sampler pack. It has the new cinnamon Horchata ale in it. Very curious how that one's gonna turn out. Cinnamon and beer just don't seem like a good combination, but we'll see...

Just cracked the first cinnamon. First few sips... strange. The cinnamon is up front, a lot more apparent in flavor than I thought it would have. Like a lot of Blue Moon's it's cloudy with low-medium head. Grassy hops on the back end. Very unique. It's not a sweet cinnamon vibe at all. Actually pretty dry. Liking it so far.

Almots a year without seeing some folks, they hav brougt liquid bread (thanks previos poster) and alcoholic flavoured grape juice. But they also brought the same talk that made me upset when meetin them.
