MaxFulvus: In France, the situation is similar to the one in Spain, except that there is local election today and my Government asks people to go to vote, but to stay at home for the other circumstances. How cynical !

Thank you guys for all your participation. You really did not made it easy for me with all your great posts and because some of you really really wanted a game. Because of technical reasons not everything fit into one post so we split it. So right now we start with the easy things because they where the only ones.

servobeupstry: Here, all fatal victims have been elderly people going into hospitals for routine operations, catching the virus and dying. My elderly loved one is going into hospital for a routine operation this week. Please wish them luck and good health. I have taken the day off to stay with them the whole day.

I'm in for Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition, thanks!

CountZero85: Thanks for the offer

Could you put me down for xenonauts?

Its nice to hear how other people are coping. here there are so far only a couple confirmed cases but the goverment is ramping up protective measures.
You would be available if your privacy let me chat with you. You have until 18.3.2020 3:00 UTC to pm me or change it before I give the key to Finkleroy.

RickyAndersen: ^ I feel the same way.
My cousin works in the airline industry, and she has to take unpaid leave because of many cancel flights. It's just a matter of time before the airlines start laying off workers around the world. The industry I work for is not doing any better either, but people still have to eat.

Thank you for the giveaway, I'm in for Transistor if I may.

argamasa: Hi Korotan and company. I´m from Spain and as other compatriots said we are in Quarantine, all the country. During the next fifteen days minimum we only can go by the streets to buy food, medicines, go to banks, gas stations or walking the pets. Schools and the majority of jobs are closed. Only yesterday was about one hundred deads and 1.5k infected. It´s not a joke, it´s important that messures be respected to not collapsed hospitals.

Fortunately Spain has a Medical system that could be the better system in the world, but the Government and people must take control to beat coronavirus. I have hope this will pass in a couple of months, at least if this bug not support the 40º C in summer.

I would be in for System Shock™ 2 game, if i may.
avatar
PMPMGamer: In my country the positive cases of Corona Virus have been increasing day by day. The government has also implemented a lot of restrictive measures. As the suspension of visits in hospitals, waxing of discotheques, schools, bars ... The population is scared and everything hopes that this virus begins to be solved.

In for: Anno 1404: Gold Edition.
Congratulations you got all you wish game.
So now that the easy cases are over we are moving to those where 2 people had to "fight" over their wish.

Zadalon: I am traveling in Europe right now, I am in Greece and must go to most Balkan countries after that if I am allowed. Everyone was out partying on Friday night and now it is so quiet it's scary. You can't find antiseptic gel they only sell 60ml bottles for 4 euro or more and the simple masks are 1.5 euro each. Tomorrow they will control how many people go in shops to buy food and groceries i don't know how they will do this and if people will panic and start reacting. I'm staying in until the storm passes. I want to go to Africa :D hot weather kills the virus they say. I'm in for Dishonored Definitive Edition, thanks.
Congratulation.
While I am questioning your decicion for traveling and partiing right now, it is clear you are in deeper shit righ now.
So have fun with not being quiet outside but inside too.
avatar
Lazarus_03: I'm only indirectly impacted; confirmed cases are not within my area. (yet… and I sure hope it stays that way)
Still, there are preventive measures being enforced: curfews, thermal scanners, social distancing, etc.

Negatives aside… here's something I find favorable:
I like how this disease taught/forced people to practice good personal hygiene.
I mean, some folks don't even wash their hands before meals — parasites be damned.
Though probably unlikely, hopefully these sanitary habits would stick post COVID-19 outbreak.

┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
Thank you for the giveaway.
I'm in for Anno 1701 A.D.
Congratulations
While you are only indirected affected now, it is cleary that you are in greater need and I hope with this simulation you are doing your part in not spreading the virus if it is comming to your area.

Sober_Witness: I live in Russia and here things developing like in Iran. The authority pretends that nothing is happening because there are gonna be elections next month and they need people to show up there and vote. We have plenty of people that already died from corona but all this cases reported as "heart failure" accidents. The situation around here is grim and i rarely leave my home as of late.
I'm in Stronghold Crusader 2: Special Edition
Congratulations. You would get it, if you would have set your privacy to PM. You have time until 18.3.2020 3:00 UTC to change it our the key will go to CervelloYM.
While I honestly wished you would have went for Stronghold HD you got exqusite taste so with this I will help you to upstart your library with Stronghold Crusaders HD and get you the bad Crusader 2 free too.
Now we move on to the hard parts where the choice where really not easy.

greeklover: Edit: forgot to make profile and library visible, did it now, I don't use Galaxy in game features so no game time or achievements are displayed

Thanks for the generous giveaway. Starting from today, all bars, restaurants, cinemas, museums, sports establishments and generally all the places where you can entertain yourself are closed here. There won't be any nightlife for some time. this morning it was funny at the supermarkets, you could see everyone carrying big amounts of toilet paper. Well, they also bought all the lentils and beans they could carry so they will need the toilet paper:D The good thing is that we gather with friends at houses to drink some retsina(cheap white wine) and spend time together. Korotan, since you will spend a lot of time inside, apart from video games, there are interesting free to print games that you can play solo. I recommend Agent Decker and for fast plays the Murderer's Row. You can find a lot on boardgamegeek, many are dungeon crawlers. I have also printed Card Quest Kingdoms and Barbarian Vince, you can probably find better ones. I hear Inception(based on the movie) is great but don't have time to try.

I would like to participate only for game not for the second chance prize. In for Stardew Valley
Then congratulation because you got it.
You made it still mostly easy because it is clear that you are in need and your advises are top notch.

sasuke12: Thanks for the generous giveaway.

I will be in for Wolfenstein: The Two Pack .

My mother is also in the age of risk. She works full time and so do i to pay the bills. I told her quit working full time(50 hours a week) as it is taking a toll on her body.
I am young so i can manage the heavy toll and long hours of work.
I recently bought a few bottles of purell hand sanitizer to keep ourselves clean and lower the chances of either of us becoming infected with corona virus.

We already have dozens of cases of people being infected with the virus in canada. Our idiot prime minister Justin Trudeau doesn't care.

I want my mother to stay home and rest more but given our financial situation she cannot.
Congratulation.
It is clear, that you are in the need. So I hope this will at least help you to stay positive.
avatar
Genocide2099: In for Wolfenstein: The Two Pack.

2020 is starting out to be a sucky year. Though there are only a few cases of Covid 19 in my country, people are panic buying face masks and rubbing alcohol. A bottle usually costs around a dollar or two but assholes are buying them in bulk and selling them for 5 times the normal price. I'm trying to stay calm but I'm still a bit paranoid. I work from home but the rest of my family members need to go out to work. There is still that fear. My friend is also going out of the country so I'm also worried about his safety. I'll say it again. This year sucks.
Congratulation you got the other one.
While your personal situation does not look so grim on first sight, it is clear after reading more that you are in shit too and your country seem not to get out of rest too. So I hope this will ease your mind.
And now a short add break.
I am sorry to say but because of technical reasons this can take longer.

I'm in for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition Deluxe
I played it on my XBox 360 when it came out. I still have the game, but my 360 died from "Red Ring of Death" so all I can do is to look at the box and my old clue book (see attachment) :(

Corona? Yeah, well... I live in Spain. Spain just declared that there'll be a curfew starting on monday 8 am. You'll only be allowed to leave your home to buy food, medicine or to go to work. My work is building websites (which I do at home) and to photograph events for my own magazine. Events are cancelled. And my magazine's practically cancelled, too, since it's a magazine mainly for tourists and we won't have any tourists this season. So I'll basically sit at home for the next three or four weeks (no idea how long the curfew will last).

Spain's going to get hit pretty hard by the economic aftermath of Corona. Everything here depends on tourism and there won't be any tourism this year. Last year's season already ended early, because the tour operator Thomas Cook went bankrupt. So... I guess we're entering a HUGE crisis right now and lots of people will lose their jobs (or better: won't get a job after being jobless the last six months).

ps. I don't want this to sound as if I'm begging. I still have the possibility to build websites (if anyone's still thinking "A website is what I need right now!"), so I think I'll be fine. I just see pretty dark times coming towards Spain. Corona will probably be the least of our problems when we find the time to look at what's left of the country at the end of the year.
Than congratulation.
Spain is in deep shit (again) so now you can at least have fun with your favourite game and mod it too.
So now we got all the games people wanted. For those of you who got nothing there is the coupon.
And the Oscar goes too

A very nice giveaway indeed :)

Good luck to everyone and stay safe!
Thanks for the giveaway Korotan.
Congratulations to all winners. After a long day of hard work, we can come back and enjoy these wonderful games.

Hopefully this Corona disaster goes away soon.
Stay healthy folks.
I just found this thread and I wanted to thank the creator. These kind of iniciatives are heartwarming. My country, Spain as many others are on lockdown and it's the people as always who are going to suffer the economical consequences of this pandemic. Even a tiny thing can help ^^

This remind us that we have to remember to be empathic with others and their suffering, be chinese, american, european... even with our differences
Thanks for the giveaway! We need every bit of positivity. Stay safe everyone.

Thank you Korotan for facilitating the giveaway and thank you Doc0075 for donating a key.

Korotan: […] I hope with this simulation you are doing your part in not spreading the virus if it is comming to your area.
No worries, regardless if it comes to a lockdown or not, I strictly follow the rules and guidelines to contain the spread of this virus — it's for the benefit of everyone in the long run.
Thanks for Dishonored Definitive Edition and a great giveaway Korotan. I am not sure which donor to thank. You say Doc.Byte in your message but his name is not on the donors' list. Is he Doc0075 or someone else? Congratulations to the other winners too. Oh I am dumb:) I didn't see when redeeming but the order says gifted by Doc0075 so thanks Doc0075!

Thank you for organizing this giveaway. Weird thing, isn't it? You think about doing a giveaway for chinese GOGers, because they're hit hard by Corona and can't leave their homes. Then you decide to do it for others too, because Corona's spreading. And the day you announce who gets the games, you're sitting in a locked down country yourself.

______________________

I'm a roleplayer for 30 years already. Not only on PC, but Pen and Paper as well. I kinda grew up thinking through all kinds of situations and possible outcomes of every scenario, no matter how absurd it is. If I'm preparing for something, I imagine the situation as some multiple choice scenario and play through the different outcomes. I even do that in real time during a conversation. That's just how my brain works. During my whole life this always helped me. I always was prepared and never had to think about adequate answers or actions, because I already played through the situation. I always knew what to do to get the outcome I wanted. I'm thinking about stuff all day long. But with Corona? This is driving me crazy! Things are evolving way too fast. You have a new situation every few hours. I think this'll change the world.

We're currently in a situation where we have to decide between protecting old and sick people (the ones who run a high risk to die from COVID-19), or keeping our normal lives and our economy running. It seems we can't have both. If we're serious with protecting the lives of our parents and grandparents, we'll (temporarily) have to live a lot more isolated and our economy will have to suffer badly (even more than it already is). Lots of people will lose their jobs, savings and their livelyhood. If we decide to go on to keep us and our economy running, we'll lose our parents and our humanity.

Governments are starting to restrict our possibilties to socialize already, because a huge majority didn't give a crap and was all like "It's only killing old and sick people, so I'm not in danger" (I've read way too many comments like that). That's... concerning! How can people be like "Who cares about old people? Let em die."? If these measures won't be enough to get Corona under control, our governments will have to decide what's more important: Our economy, or human lives...

I'm starting to think about that scenario because today is the first regular working day under the ongoing curfew here in Spain. And when I look out of the window, the streets are full of people. I'm not quite sure that's how it is meant to be. Spain is in a state of emergency right now. Our government has the right to take control of individual companies. I think if traffic outside won't calm down quite a bit, they'll soon have to start closing non-essential businesses.

Anyway... I'm thinking about things too much. Thanks again for the giveaway! Oblivion's already installed and I'll start playing it later today. I guess I'll go with a sneaky battlemage/archer Dunmer (Dark Elf). Looking forward to the siege of Kvatch, the quest line of the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, that ship in the Imperial City, the quest that takes place in the oil painting and many, many other great quests! I'm not a huge fan of open world games anymore, but Oblivion hits exactly my taste of fantasy and has so many memorable quests! There's only one thing I'm already fearing...
