OT STUFF- is darwin project worth playing in 2020?
im kinda intersted
but theyre gonna close servers by the end of this year
I already have and enjoy Devil Daggers on GOG but I would like to also have the Steam version so I could apply the Steam community mods without having to fiddle and ending up breaking the GOG version every time.
Thanks Jiggles262, Triock, Finkleroy and DrLeatherface from last month!

Many thanks to both of you fink and Cymepa! Now I can easily mod the Steam one to train - for example having a room full of spiders from the beginning so I don't have to wait until spiders come normally to practice with them, and keep the GOG one vanilla! Also, I can select what version to launch in Galaxy 2. This is some quality of life, I'm sure it'll help me to get better and rank a bit higher in those leaderboards. Spoiler: I suck. If anyone is interested, this is the tool I use to apply the community rooms:

Can you read the OP? Or do you even have any interest posting in a non-giveaway thread?

13. Things that will cause me to dagger keys are:
- If the key is for DLC
- If the game received lots of negative reviews
- If the game was recently given away for free
- If the game is an itch.io game
- If the game has stayed non-daggered for a long time or is extremely likely to stay on the main list for a long time

Just read the main post, please :)

That can happen if a game's on the list as non-daggered, and then given away en masse, so all the keys that are added later are daggered, and I don't notice that some of the keys are still non-daggered. It can also happen if a donor specifically requests that I dagger a key they donate, even though it wouldn't normally be daggered. It could also just be a mistake or oversight on my part. There's actually a game in the upcoming update that has one key that's daggered because the donor requested I dagger it, and also some other keys for the same game that aren't daggered.

finkleroy: .
Given that blue posts can be made to always appear at the top of a thread, perhaps it would be helpful to ask a blue to post something in this and the gog thread... something like "Everyone please read the first and second posts of this thread to understand the rules." Nothing fancy, just a single sentence.

I think it would save a lot of time on your (and others') part from constantly having to tell new peeps how this works. And to be fair to them, they can't really be blamed for not knowing to read the beginning. I think a simple post at the top of the thread would go a long way to fix a recurring problem.

If the blues were concerned doing so might make it look like they were giving some kind of "official" approval or participation in this, maybe they'd be willing to let someone else's post always appear at the top... yours for example.
