gvyop: I'm looking to request some other games :
- Moebius and Grey Goo from non daggered. (quota is still 3 I suppose)

- i'm not a Monster (Daggered ones, not that one in non-daggered pls)
avatar
finkleroy: Granted.
I thank RedRabbitRun for the key to Grey Goo.

In these times of great upheaval of the rules of generous donations, I experiment for the first time the invalid keys.
The keys of Moebius: Empire Rising:
Donated by RedRabbitRun
and
I am not a Monster:
Donated by Korotan

are already associated with another account. :-D

Edit to correct : I am a Monster appeared in my steam library . it is likely that I click twice on the button of the web page. My mistake.

So thank you to Korotan for the Key !! (and sorry about that)

If no one requests XCOM: The Bureau before the end of the month, can I get it?

Consider this a semi-request.

Please no pre-requests or semi-requests. If it's available and you're eligible to receive it, request it. If not, please don't. Thanks.

I'm finishing up with the new rules, and I want to let everyone know what I've come up with so far. The new limit will be 1 daggered key + 1 non-daggered key per update round, regardless of how many updates or rounds there are per month, and separately from that, 5 non-daggered keys and 7 daggered keys from the main list per month. Multiple DLC for the same game count as one daggered key.

"What are 'rounds' and why are the necessary?" you ask? If there's an update that has a bunch of popular games and everyone can only request one, when I move everything to the main list, everyone will be able to request 5 at once, and that would negate the entire point of limiting everyone to 1 non-daggered key per update. A while after an update is released but before its contents are transferred to the main list, I'll let everyone request 1 more daggered key + 1 more non-daggered key from the update.

I will still release updates on random dates at random times, and the number of updates per month and the number of keys per update will depend on the volume of keys that have been donated. Nothing will really change in this regard.

So far, I haven't seen any issues regarding nominations. In fact, there hasn't been a single nomination since zeogold transferred the giveaway to me. I will leave the rules regarding nominations unchanged. If any issues with it arise in the future, we can discuss changing this rule.

I'm not entirely sure what to do about the issue of editing posts. If I don't make it against the rules, people can make a quick post and then look over the list, find what they want and edit their post to request what they found on the list. If I make it against the rules, however, it will cause its own set of problems. People will edit their posts to fix typos and such, and as a result, their posts will be ignored. I could require them to edit the original post to remove the request from it and then make a new post, but if you create a new post less than 10 minutes after your previous post, the GOG forum will automatically edit your first post to add the second post to it. At this point, all you have is an edited post, which will be ignored. It would be great if the GOG forum had basic functionality like the ability to delete your post and the ability to not have it automatically merge your posts, but sadly, it does not. I don't really think it's fair to force people to wait 10 minutes to be able to post a second time, but I also don't think it's fair to leave people with the capability of cheating. I really don't know what to do here.

I hope that the new rules will result in more people being able to get the games they want the most from the updates, and also shrink the main list. We'll see how things go, and if the rules need to be modified again in the future, we'll discuss it then. In the meantime, what does everyone think of my proposed list of new rules? Is there anything I missed? Is there anything that doesn't seem necessary? What should I do about the editing situation? Let's discuss all of this before the new rules take effect at midnight PDT on September 1. I plan to move everything from the current update to the main list before then, in order to remove confusion about which set of rules the update will follow.
