Are you forgetting the spam flood we had awhile back? This prevents people from flooding every thread with spam posts.

I almost never venture outside the 13 posts on my favorites list, so I didn't know about it. I find venturing out into the rest of the forum is detrimental to general mental and emotional well-being.

But then how do you find out about all the good posts here? :D

And yeah we had spammers flooding the forums non stop for days about a month ago, with like 30 thread at a time. We also get people posting single posts in some threads, and the timer is probably to prevent some of that or discourage that.
