Thanks for asking, any... but those from companies that respect us & our privacy and have walked with GOG for long time I think should be acknowledged somehow

Actually it seems Control is DRM free on Epic. I understand that not all people want to open a virtual machine or another Operanting System/computer to install the game and copy the install folder, being sure that all the dependencies are installed as well, like VC run times.
On GOG is way more simple, just download the installer with all the dependencies. No assle.

I would like to cut this gratuitous off-top started from someone's passive-aggressive in-between-lines implied shaming attempt (at least I interpreted it that way while it was clearly directed at me) and end it here.
To conclude:
1.To my understanding EGS version is only DRM-free after downloading through rather intrusive app or even when using the "unofficial" community one it still involves connecting to rather "debatably safe" server networks in "debatably safe" countries which in turn rely on undisclosed frequency random connections to "certain countries" with "debatable" laws. Then the DRM-free only applies to the base game to my knowledge. All DLCs require the client software interaction. Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been seeing this specific info in many independent places.
2.Regardless what some people say and what some others may wish to think, there's plenty of wrong with EGS and not everybody is willing to even merely have an account there, let alone rely on their services for gaming.

With that said, I'm just going to end this off-topic here. I would rather buy Control on Steam (someday) than have *anything* to do with EGS. Period.

There's plenty of wrong with EGS and I don't want to EVER have ANY associations with it.
