He edited because he though Oblivion keys had ran out, even before the other guy posted his request, actually.
While finkleroy will bend occasionally the rule is in place because a) in many cases there's no reliable witness to what was said originally vs. changed, and b) it imposes on the ga host an extra responsibility to track down what is said or not.

Admittedly all of which would be easier if GoG forums didn't treat time-merged posts as an edit rather than distinct posts. But as a general role, just don't edit a request even if your intent is benign or even positive and think about it from the point of view of making the host's volunteer job as easy as possible ;)
