Doc0075: Have donated a few games to be added next month. I have taken on board the suggestions in this thread and donated a nice mix of old and new and a good variety of genres.
Nice and thanks for your continued generosity. :)

Doc0075: I would like to ask that you request games that you intend to play.
The reason I say this is that I have noticed with my giveaways that people win a game and then weeks, months later they still haven't redeemed the code. This is also happening with some of my donations to this giveaway thread now.
You mean claim to one's account, right? I ask as sometimes someone like me or others might want a game to play in a month's time or a bit longer, or want to play it right away.

Also as for people not redeeming codes....how long is it on average? If it's over several days or so and the same people keep doing it i'd ask OP to maybe talk to them(to see if it's a mistake/etc) or put them on the ban list if they keep doing that, as that seems a bit against the rules, imo.

Doc0075: It makes me stop and think, well how much did you really want that game in the first place? It also denies someone else the chance to win who does want to play it.
I can't speak for others, but I often ask for games I won't play for a few weeks or longer, so I can have them to play within a reasonable period(or sooner sometimes) & don't miss out(especially on delisted games given away).

Of course I also turn down some games before even asking to let others get them if I know I won't be playing them for a very long time, to be fair as you say.

If I may, I'd like to nominate PainOfSalvation for "Hard West: Scars of Freedom (DLC)" for January [he already owns the base game].

I (have not donated many games but) am always making sure they get redeemed. I would get mighty peeved if games I bought are not redeemed and by the correct account but it seems the orders section sometimes is wrong and a game HAS been redeemed in spite of it saying unredeemed.

Doc, I can't believe you haven't mentioned this earlier (at least I haven't noticed).
That kind of behaviour by those that received codes from you is totally unacceptable and don't me even get started where it stands on the moral ground (yep, below it).
That means those people are just pilling up codes which they plan to trade or something. While I was sure some of the regular grabbers were doing this in Non-GOG Community Giveaway I thought that at least the GOG one couldn't be abused because it can be seen if the person who received the game has redeemed it or not.
If there isn't a rule already that covers this it should definitely be added.
What you do with your codes is your business, but if someone haven't redeemed a code you sent for months(!!!) that user have either forgot about it or something else but for sure doesn't have any intention to play it, and you should probably consider giving those to someone else in the manner you see fit.
Yes, a solution could be that if past some weeks the game has not been claimed, the donor could advise finkleroy to put again the game in the list.

That is indeed suspicious... As BranjoHello mentioned, it seems like someone could be using gifted codes for trading.
You can also check that the person that finally redeems the code is the same one you gave it to, but with the amount of games you donate/gift, keeping track of every code won't be easy.

If it isn't the case anyway, I agree that taking a game just for backlogging isn't fair and respectful to other users or donors.

So, a reminder to everyone: One game per month is the limit, not the standard pace. Only take games you are interested in playing.

:( I had this happen with one of my donations to this thread, too, and contacted finkleroy after a week of it not having been redeemed yet. My assumption at present is still that the requester simply missed the chat with the code, and/or real life intruded, but...

I know people like adamhm have a rule in their giveaways that if codes aren't redeemed within a week, it'll be gifted to someone else. Might be worth doing that for your giveaways, too. (I imagine the hassle of following up on it would be prohibitive, but simply having the rule might help.)

Yeah looked now through my orders too. Turned out two of my big friends never redeemed the game I whas gifting them and probably have already forgotten about it. Well I am going now to give it Finkleroy for redistributing like I did whith Stardew Valley for little brother before. So next month will get additional Stronghold HD and Dungeon Keeper 2.

swearzt: Oh my bad

May i get Patrician 3 ?
The forum search function and Google are both terrible ways to tell how much recent activity you have on the forum, but unfortunately they're the only tools I have at my disposal. According to them, you don't really qualify for the giveaway yet. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the forum and make some meaningful posts and/or tell some jokes here and there in threads that aren't specifically for game giveaways, and before you know it you'll be eligible. Please familiarize yourself with the rules of this giveaway, which are located in the first post of this thread. In the meantime, someone in the community gifting thread might be able to help you out. The only way to fast-track the qualification process is to donate some keys. I'm just trying to make sure you're not only on the forum to get free games. Donating isn't mandatory, but it's a good indication that you're not just here for free games.
hey finkleroy, hows it going?

I think you can but for information, you can get it free here: https://www.gog.com/gwent-welcome-bonus?pp=d051bf1ddf82f79c6af34f7f4e59707f081296ad

BranjoHello: If there isn't a rule already that covers this it should definitely be added.
If nominees get a week to claim their game, it should definitely apply to those who request it as well, if not even be a shorter deadline for those. But that's for this particular giveaway, of course.

About taking games you're not starting relatively soon though, I say no foul there if you do intend to play it at some point and think it for whatever reason unlikely that you'll be able or willing to purchase it yourself by then.

Granted.

I was going to add a new rule that if a donor sees that a key hasn't been redeemed within a week after it was granted. they can notify me, and I'll give the recipient a nudge, and if they don't redeem the key after four weeks, it'll be returned to the giveaway. What does everyone think of the timing? I want to give people some leeway in case they're busy or forgot, but I also want to make sure they're not requesting games they have no intention of playing, or even worse, intend to trade or sell.
