2000 characters isn't nearly enough.
Double or triple that amount would be an improvement.

The entire review system needs an overhaul. You can't find, edit, or even comment on reviews.

Agreed, until now I never posted a review, didn't know the system was this barebone.

I'd be content with double. My first -- and to date only -- review ended up a bit of a mess. I just couldn't manage to make it fit the character limit. I tried to be more brief, deleted some things that mattered to me, and it still wasn't enough. Not being able to find all your reviews or edit any of them are also things I'd like to see addressed.

Same here, I had to rewrite the review a couple times, but gave up anyway. I still posted it, but there's a lot of points missing that I didn't get to mention due to the limit. :/

Good luck with that request, since if anything they made it even stricter, as there was a workaround back in the day.

The shortest review I wrote for a game that I'd very hesitatingly dare to call proper, if pressed, was for a short visual novel and had 2701 characters, now that I check.
Shortest one I have no problem considering a proper review, 6197.

Oh, and if you're curious, longest: 19276.

The limit here looks to me like it's something just intended to allow brief comments, nothing that'd actually count as a review.

You can in many cases, just create a thread in the forum for the game and link to that in your review with some kind of preamble. Even if you just indicate your Review on the game page is a summary of a more detailed and extensive review in a thread post in the forum section for that game. If that section doesn't exist, then just use the General forum and explain the case.

I did a review, pretty sure it was Rebel Galaxy, the ~18k limit in these posts was too short so i had to do 2 posts to do the review...

Depends on how in depth the review needs to be though. At least you don't have to do it in a tweet of 240 something characters...

Mhmm... Mostly i wanted to consolidate all the reviews in one place. I also gave some mini-reviews on my GoG Mix of like 15 games i considered 'must have'. But since that feature is gone... :(

I tried that and my review got downvoted to oblivion. That and given how sometimes the forums are nonexistant or return a rate of visits so low as to make the Jungle of the Flayer Jungle look well traveled, isn't quite optimal.

I agree that the letter limit should be expanded, as there were times I had to erase words from the review I had prepared, or to write them as if writing in code! E.g. my Dungeon Siege Collection review. How could I write a 3-game review in one review text!

However I don't agree with editing the reviews. The text of the reviewer must be final, as well as his opinion of the game reviewed. And for this to happen he/she has to play it for sufficient hours before deciding what to write, in order his text to be fair. I have had enough of people starting their review as "I have been playing for 2 hours and these are my thoughts"!! No!! Play it for 15 or 20 hours (or even better, finish the game) and then write your thoughts. Don't rush it. More often than not, you would be unfair for the game.

Really? People shouldn't be able to edit their reviews for No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077, or The Witcher 3 which now has the original version relegated to the extra goodies section?

Either allow us to edit them, or allow us to delete them ourselves (or have the ones we mark for deletion hidden from view instead).
