tinyE: Worse!? Where did you get that idea? Seriously.

This is the best place in the world to live. Anyone anywhere else is a sucker and that's a fact!

TARFU: Well, I guess that answers that question. That reminds me, a pasty sounds tasty right now, I just don't feel up to making some. Had any lately?
Not a fan of pastys.

Had one. It wasn't exactly bad, but anything kind of food that demands being covered in gravy or ketchup prior to consumption probably doesn't taste that great to begin with. :P

Matewis: It disappeared for a while, along with all it's sugary fruity goodness, only to come back after a few years later with its soul ripped out :P
awalterj explained the sad truth as to why in an old thread I made about the same subject:

But...but WHY did they disappear?!

avatar
TARFU: My main complaint with that type of stuff (other than the sugar) is that it's time-consuming and messy to make.
That's why the good Lord hath provided us with the miracle that is known as Eggo waffles.

TARFU: Anyway, maybe you could write a paper on the psychology of breakfast. Who chooses what and amounts of sugar with relation to personality types and that sort of thing.
....hm.
*jots this down on the "Things To Do In 10 Years" list*

Anyone ever had a bowl of Grape Nuts actually drink all the milk you pour on them? :P

Those were just large wood chunks.

One person has. That person died as a result. That was back in '88, the year of the Grape Nuts martyr...
I gave up cereal when I discovered that my kitchen would not murder me. I'm all about eggs and sausage now.

And ham. Ham? You like ham? Wait till you see me like ham!

But... when I was a kid I was all about Fruity Pebbles and Trix. Then at a certain age I realized that most of those colored sugar cereals were basically the same thing, just shaped differently.

No, my friend. They're different. Very different. It's just that after you grow up, you can't taste it anymore.

Can't taste it any more? Must be a side effect of the die-uh-beetus.

Do you like green eggs and ham, Sam-I-Am? Would you, could you eat them in a box?
My cereal is plain raw oatmeal every day. About 1 cup of quick oats or large flake, to which I add about a teaspoon or two of cinnamon if I have it, about 1tbsp of chia seeds, then add about a cup of frozen fruit, stir it all up, then I nuke it dry for about 1 minute to take the edge off of the frozen fruit a bit, then I add almond, cashew or coconut milk just to cover it and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to soak it up and let the chia gel a bit. Then I add more of the nut milk to fill it up like you would normal cereal. Occasionally I sprinkle some demerara on top if I feel it is needed.

If I'm out of cinnamon I will sometimes use 1-2tbsp of cocoa powder instead along with an appropriate amount of some kind of sweetener to make it chocolate, aiming for the least amount of sweet necessary without it being bitter. Also occasionally I will throw in nuts, seeds, coconut or other common baking ingredients from the bulk store just for variety. If I have dates or raisins or some other naturally quite sweet fruit, I may add more of that instead of any refined sugar products if it needs more sweetness. Most of the time whatever fruit I've chosen is sweet enough on its own though in the amounts I tend to use.

Nom nom nom, oatmeal with fruit!
That's ok, the sound of Sweden will drone on in the background (kinda like tinitus).

skeletonbow: ~I eat home made müsli in the morning~
Yes, the müsli is the life.
Grape Nuts has a higher glycemic index than table sugar. Bad stuff

I like Quaker oatmeal squares with brown sugar for a mostky healthy cereal. Raisen bran or mini wheats if I'm feeling sweet-toothish. I can't do marshmallow cereal anymore.
Lucky Charms
Golden Grahams
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
COOOOOOOKIE Crisp
Special K Red Berry
Frosted Flakes

Those are my top six, bros.
