I mean, to be fair, it's a long trek to get there. It's easier just to send a postcard to make sure you guys are still alive and haven't been annexed or sunk in one of those giant lakes or something.

$50 says they came up with the name first. Someone said it sounded great, so all they needed was a product to pin it on. ;P

It's funny how many people have never heard of nut milk before considering humans have been making nut milks (by one name or another) for thousands of years. They're not something new in the world, just something having increasing popularity in North America at the moment.

I didn't pick the best video there, that chick has like a $10 Walmart welfare blender that can't blend worth shit. When it is blended properly you can't see any nut chunks in it, which requires using a proper blender, not that yard sale crap. I use a Blendtec HP3-A, designed by men for men, none of that sissy hardware that explodes if you drop an icecube in the carafe. :) A Vitamix would work well also.

Also, cheesecloth is completely inadequate, tonnes of fine pulp will go through it. You need a proper nut milk bag, or a fine mesh strainer like a stainless steel coffee filter (pristine, not used for coffee). This extracts all the fine pulp.

For cashew milk, no filtering is necessary with a good blender, it bashes the snot out of the cashews and liquifies them completely with only the slightest trace of pulp.
