Thanks mate for the feedback. I was inclined to view this as a contest of a sorts. I wasn't sure if the whole list was first come first serve or a contest. It seems a contest though as to random nature of the giving part.

Well I'm sure if you have been here years (as your joindate does show) then you will have an extended post history, however the search engine does not show results correctly for anyone with punctuation in their name - hence rule #6.
The reason we use the search is to ensure gifts to to those who contribute to the general community and arent just here to leech free games. Therefore it was decided to exclude names with punctuation to make this regular GA possible. this is what we could do to make it as fair as possible to everybody entering - we are not being paid in any way to administrate this GA and a it stands it does take a significant amount of time and effort to manage - and would take a greater deal more if we had to search by hand additional entrants (as we had to prior to the addition of rule #6) entrants with punctuation in thier usernames.
Several (well known) forum members did in fact change their names. Five minutes for them, a great deal of time saved for us.
In your case I'm sure "ShmackyMcNuts" is unlikely to be taken already, and also unlikely to alienate you from those you already know on here (possibly the wider web?!).

But I honestly don't post much here. But I do make all my purchases here and no where else. Now, I don't have to look for hand outs but I was under the impression having PM'd you as you state in your rules I'd be considered "ok".

But I have to admit it was a bit bothering to be under the impression I'd be a part of the thread and...oh and nope...literally several minutes after praising you folks. Kinda didn't sit well. Ya know? -_-

Well I don't have a record of having replied, which means the notification is one of those that got gobbled earlier in the week -but - as I stated with rules #3 and #6 - you can easily have your username altered and that is what prevented you from qualifying as an entrant to begin with.

Edit: and to just PM me doesn't guarantee entry - it states:
"Should you have legitimate concerns about your eligibility, please PM either foxworks or myself. "
- that would mean getting a reply on the matter.

Don't take it too badly. These giveaways, this whole initiative, is to encourage community participation and reward it. It doesn't even require a lot of it. Plus, there will be another one next week, and another one after it.

Also, the PMs - and all of GOG's forum - have been extremely wonky around the Star Wars releases, so there's a chance Sachys just didn't see your message.

Any way, better luck next time. I certainly hope you'll stick around for it ;)

I wasn't upset or miffed. I thought it rather rude to do exactly as you mention and when I came round to participate "forget you!" was the response. So fine. It won't affect me either way. I'm still living =)
