I had to work on Saturday and Sunday this week, with no overtime pay nor can I claim it as annual leaves.
So much for liberalizing the Malaysian economy.

akwater: Damn Rohan, that sucks, at least it is treatable right?

Yeah.

akwater: WTF is up with Higher education lately? They just added another $1,000 per student fee for each of the 18 students I have...... and my budget is shot till the next fiscal year........ sigh........ 18,000 grand out of pocket or just cut out all lab work....

Damn, I feel bad for you people who really want to study something and then encounter this kind of shit. Here in Finland I would have pretty much unlimited possibilities to educate myself, if only I wanted to. So I kinda feel quilty for not taking advantage of what they have to offer here just because I'm so lazy or word-weary or whatever, but I'm just not career oriented or then it's about me being too friggin dumb to think about my future... Hope you'll pull through, that sucks major balls.

I read a report a few years ago, concerning your education system, saying that you have the best in Europe.

It is all political, new bigwigs in Baghdad HATE the Kurds with the passion of 100 burning suns. So even if I do pay out of pocket, they might just ask I come to Baghdad........

Yeah I've heard that as well, but as I have no experience of schools in other countries I can't really compare it to anything. But at least I know for sure that high-educated Finnish workers are pretty hot stuff in Europe and the States, and that our education system is internationally renowned. Whether it's really the best I can't say, though. Our schools don't really encourage people to be terribly social so I don't know if that's a good thing. We also have a problem with those who don't do well at school, they tend to drop out of society at a relatively early age. But when compared to the European standard or whatever, I still think they are doing pretty good. What I mean is that at least you can't die of starvation or anything here. You can never be left entirely out of society, so to say.
@akwater
Yeah politics as usual, I've heard things are quite a mess down there. But that seems to be more like a status quo in the Middle East, if you'll excuse me. That's what all sources of information tell us here at least.

Well the Kurds expected Allawi to change things, al-Maliki did next to nothing for them, and this hike because of parlor deals....
Things are always gonna be jacked here to many sides, Turks, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Sunni, Shia, Baath, Kurds, can't please everyone.
We have Health Ministry personal being killed in their homes, lack of funding for basic needs, suicide bombers blowing themselves up because of election results, issues with damn near everything.
Sigh... who knows.... end of next year we will see what happens.
On a good note, 57 Students in southern Iraq finished their courses and are now doing all city services for the entire city. Water, power, Waste services, traffic, waste water everything..... :) troops had left the city last year and for awhile the people teaching were worried about it but the people, wow, they basicly publicly exucuted a guy planting an IED, and they havent had an issue yet in that regard. *their water, and waste water treatment exceed EPA standards :) dunno about the other stuff as I didnt read those reports (I'm a water guy :P )*
Oh look, here I am posting in this thread again, maybe I should just write a book...
Looks like my sister is going to die. Her newest cancer has spread a lot further than was initially expected and apparently her liver has stopped so it probably won't be too long.
Fuck...
On the up side, I got my degree this morning so that makes everything even again...
Fuck...
... that was an ellipsis for no reason other than I wanted to do one

You should, lot of hard work into IT degrees, I washed out of my IT degree and went into what i love, History. Such an interesting degree program with a lot of opportunities.

Well... I think you are slowly winning the thread. I hope she will get better anyway, nothing's certain.
As for the degree thing, at least a little thing went right, congrats.
Heh yeah but there are certain threads I'd just as happily NOT win. There are times when coming second isn't so bad, damn my competitive drive for excellence!
Well it looks like I've won again... Fuck
Spilled my soda all over my rug and desk. Fuck...
On the flipside, I fixed my Deus Ex sound problem. =)
