500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

No. Not since October.

phaolo: nothing=bottom=⊥?
Is it some math thing?

Aemenyn: I know it as the falsum in logic, representing a logical contradiction.
Iirc, it's also the symbol for the orthogonal complement in vector calculations.
No idea about the bottom thing.
Yup, in my response to MaGo72 i referred to ⊥ being the falsum/false constant in logic.
MaGo72 referred to its usage as symbol for the bottom type (which in mathematical type theory is a type that cannot have any value).

IAmSinistar: The only DRM that has ever been successful against pirates is a Dreadnought (crewed by) Royal Marines.
+1 :D

Splatsch: And Realms of Arkania still not repeating... Argh, I wish I have not missed them ! I hope they will be back !
I've not seen any "Last chance" markers yet. I hope GOG will add the markers again in this sale. So for now I assume everything we've seen so far will come back at least once.
Codename: 47.
I am a Silent Assassin.
I execute al my Contracts.
I always get my Blood Money.
I am a Hitman.

Not here on GOG, unfortunately.

Nordrian: Ha, arcanum :p Got my hand on it!
Don't forget to apply the all-important patch---you can find a link in the game's subforum.

Interesting that there are different Unicode code points for the up tack and the perpendicular. If i am not mistaken, the glyphs of those two symbols should be identical (or should they not?). On the other hand, it would hardly be the only case of intentionally duplicated characters in Unicode; another famous occurrence being µ: once as greek character U+03BC, and once as SI symbol U+00B5.

(Yes, i know. It's totally off-topic, and i apologize for it. But the sale is dragging on, and on, and on... ;-) )

eiii: Works for me under Wine 1.6. The game installs, starts and plays the intro. I've started the campaign, colonized an island and constructed a few buildings. No problems so far. :)

immi101: does the music work? I remember that needed some additional winetricks magic when I last tried the disc version.
The music may not have been played, but I'm not sure about that. I have to verify it at home.

My disk version of Anno 1503 does not work at all under Wine. The game installs but when I want to run it it does not recognize the CD. Probably some kind of DRM check which fails under Wine.

My disk versions of Anno 1602 and 1701 both do work under Wine. They do not even require the disks to run. But I probably still will buy the games from GOG as a backup.

Do you have Anno 1602 and 1701 from GOG? Do the GOG versions work flawlessly under Wine?

RWarehall already reported that all of today's deals are repeats, except for Sokobond.

ReynardFox: Dang, third day in a row with no deals for me.
avatar
fronzelneekburm: I love how these Squenix daily deals keep popping up, yet no effort is made to add further titles from the respective franchises to the catalogue. Take Hitman for instance. Blood Money will be 10 years old next year. How much longer is Squenix going to dick around until they release it here?
avatar
ReynardFox: Considering Squeenix actually believes DRM fights piracy, anything more from them any time soon is pretty damn unlikely.
They could at least release Mini Ninjas from the same dev team here. They're not exactly fighting the good fight on that particular battlefield, since the Steam version can be played outside of Steam.

But then again, gog's release policy would probably be in the way and the game gets rejected for being "too niche"...
