Evidently it doesn't like integrated graphics cards.

Oh. So I have a chance it could work :P

Hum, have you seen (and tried) this solution ?
1. This game doesn't work!
A: I know it doesn't always work. In fact, if you have Intel HD graphics, it won't work at all. However, here is how to fix it. Just launch the game and don't change any resolution, graphics, or texture settings. It's that simple. You can change the controls (Like I did because the default controls aren't good) and no crashes.

didn't work
I spent a couple of hours on it today with no luck but it was only two dollars so I'm not freaking out.

Ah, I was having some hopes for you...too bad XD
If there's no solution I guess you'll simply have to ask a refund. Nice to see some quiet people in face of a non-working game, it change from what we usually see :)
Humm... only two dollars... And I'm in lack of nice racing games... really tempting... But I never heard about it before. Hum...

It's not on sale right now but if ever, I'd pick up the Flatout games if you need some good racers.

Maybe I should buy at least the first one. I remember played the demo and wasn't convinced/attracted by the gameplay/feel but... so many people are talking about it in good ! If it's cheap, I'll think about it :)

Edit : I just tried the demo again and... the day I played it before (it was yeaaars ago), my gamepad sensibility wasn't certainly not well configured XD (I learned a lot of things concerning this during the last years :P). There are still some things I'm mixed about... But if it's cheap, I think I'll definitely buy the first one :) Thanks for the suggestion !

I also can recommend Flatout. It's still my favorite racing game on GOG. If you look for a rather simple fun racer you cannot go wrong with it. And when you are not in the mood for serious racing it's just evil fun to destroy your car step by step, set it on fire and watch your driver flying dozens of meters through the air after a crash. :P

The only racing game on GOG which may be better than Flatout is Race Driver: GRID. It's one of the mystery games, but as I'm only interested in a few of the mystery games the odds are too bad for me to gamble for it.

I wonder if GOG's support team could help you get the game working if you contacted them about it.

Which one(s): the first, the second or both?
Half of the sale.

Both of them are good games. Flatout 2 is a bit more polished, more career oriented and has better graphics. Flatout 1 is better when you just want to drive (Flatout 2 has no time trial mode), the controls are a bit more direct and the physics feels more realistic (without making the car too difficult to drive).

My personal favorite is Flatout 1. It's the game I got first and somehow got stuck with. Driving feels a bit more realistic than in Flatout 2 and the graphics always has been good enough for me.

eiii: Not even on Windows?
Then my chances with Wine aren't that good I guess. ;)
avatar
tinyE: It's evidently a graphics card thing. I'd be super pissed but I only paid $2.
I've tried MX vs. ATV Unleashed under Wine 1.6 with an NVidia card. The game runs without problems in the default resolution of 640x480. But when I increase the resolution it crashes or starts with a black screen. Will have to test it a bit more, but I'm too tired now.

I played it a lot on the original Xbox back in the days, and I think it was a pretty good racing game. It has traditional races and freestyle competitions. I believe you could buy ATVs and other motorcycles with different CC after a while as well. So I only remember vague details, but I remember very well making a full pot of coffee, setting the timer on the freestyle dirt-track to 99 minutes, and just playing it :P I don't know how well it holds up today though, I might buy it again to find out.

Edit: Does anyone know if the PC-version supports split-screen multiplayer?
