500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

Splatsch: I was thinking you were remembering well the old version you played, it seems they tried to keep the same king of "game spirit".
Like I said, I only played a little bit of the old one. But if you consider "dying a lot" to be a major part of the "game spirit" of the original, then, from what little I've heard, the spirit is alive in the remake. =P
In the intro movie of Theme Hospital, there is a scene where a doctor plays Dungeon Keeper on his computer.
When we talk about quest game. is to bad we can”t talk about The Curse of Monkey Island.
Anyway, nice bundles.

Daniel_M: I have played the game and although I really love it (and by the way, adventure games are one of my two favourite genres) I cannot possibly recommend it to you as someone who is not into these kind of games.
The big number of collectable objects and spells and the possible combinations, combined with the game's obscurity in terms of what to do, will doubtlessly piss you off very soon.
Good chances it will be for another time so :) I'm keeping it on my wishlist, and maybe one day I'll buy it ! I like the visuals (the new ones and the old ones), and the atmosphere is attracting. I love adventures and enigmas, but... not every kind (point-n-click and me aren't friends for now :P Maybe it'll change one day !).

Daniel_M: [...] the game for some strange reason running in turns [...]
Sounds interesting more than rebuting for me !
avatar
Daniel_M: EDIT: Its biggest problem is its reliance on trial & bloody error, which in my eyes is never a good thing. What could possibly be interesting about mindlessly trying things out until you get it right?????
And yet I love the damned game, although it's not unusual for me to rage-quit a game as soon as I come across a trial & goddamn error puzzle.
Now this is certainly an issue for me, if combined with the point-n-click genre. As I said, I think I'll keep the game on my wishlist for now (I'll certainly try it one day I think, when I'll have plenty of time and money).
Thanks very much for all this highlights of the game !

Thank you very much you three for your help :)

Northern winds and dead walkers...

Northern winds isn't King's Bounty since GOG wouldn't do a full bundle while some of the series is part of the mystery gift setup.
Being reminded of Icewind Dale, but that's always part of the D&D bundle that GOG used less than a month ago.

Dead walkers sounds like the Walking Dead Season 1, Season 2 and 400 Days bundle they did a while back.

Hmm. One thing just came to mind. Would call it a very long shot. It would explain both of the clues, though.

mrkgnao: Nordic bundle?
Very good chance, and lamely enough, one that I hadn't even thought of yet.
Well, I spend enough for getting Divine Divinity, it says that I have earned the game when I click on the "Earn free game" thing, but how do I get this game?
