500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

IronArcturus: Has anyone tried Trine 3 or Windward? Are they any good?
Not hearing good things about Trine 3. They went full 3D with the third installment. But all I can really think of at the moment is the video Total Biscuit did about it. But I see folks here seem to really hate the guy, so no help here. ^^;

Arinielle: ..so should I just wait things out or stick to my guns and just not give them my money if they aren't willing to take care of the version they've brought to GOG? I'm not going to get it on Steam either way. :/

kneekoo: Not caring about GOG is bad for everyone, GOG included. So yes, if it doesn't itch too much you should just wait until the game gets updated.
Thanks so much. I think that's what I'll do. I have an enormous backlog as it is so not like I need it right away. I'd prefer to give money, when possible, to those developers/publishers that give a damn about everyone enjoying their games and not just those on one platform. They took the time to add it to GOG, they need to be responsible for keeping it up to date.

The game is fully updated (took a while for that, though). The problem is that the DLC pack isn't here yet.

That's too bad. I was hoping Trine 3 would have been patched by now.

But have you tried Windward at all? I wonder if it has a Skirmish mode.

NuffCatnip: The second bundle tomorrow will have something to do with Princesses...hmmm....
King's Bounty?

Ah, thank you. ^^

I suppose I'll wait to see if the DLC will come over as well, see how long that takes. Any word from them?

Nope. Haven't tried that one, sorry. >.<

Maybe go take a look at the Trine 3 Steam page discussions and see if they mention anything about fixes for the game and see if they've made it here.. things like that.
Nothing to me today, wallet safe

Interesting - I'm... not sure. I admit I saw a short list of the Mystery Games when the sale kicked off and not much jumped out at me so I haven't been paying attention to the possibilities. Though I have been occasionally hovering my mouse toward the top of the front page because watching that thing dangle down is too funny ;)

Initially, there was a negative response for both the DLC and the updates, but sometime after that, the latest update was issued. As for the DLC, there is no further word for it. Judging by its description on Steam (first expansion), the developers may want to release it here alongside the other possible future DLC packs.
Called it.

Ah. What's your personal thought on it all? Is the DLC worth waiting for? What got folks so upset?
Anyone noted if the price of games can change?
I've seend that Return to Krondor moved from 0.99€ to 1.49€ while I was checking out.
