500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

Finale - 2/2
Of emotional good-buys.

Finding the best way to cope with harsh goodbyes builds character. But finding a way to turn the gloomy vibe around and come out on top can build heartfelt devotion. And amazing game collections.

So turn that frown upside down and come celebrate the bombastic last day of our Big Winter Sale. One surefire way to lift your spirits is to stop by our gourmet-but-totally-affordable buffet of all returning Daily Deals. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, winner of The Game Awards GOTY, is a real treat at -50%, and so are Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (-33%) or Pillars of Eternity (-50%). You can also go for some mouth-watering point'n'clicks like The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 and Stasis (-50%), or exercise your aptitude in wielding blunt weapons as a Shovel Knight (-33%).

The curtain is falling on our Big Winter Sale but the uplifting mood lingers on, as there is still time to have a final go at those intriguing mystery games and grab your FREE copy of Giants: Citizen Kabuto before he runs back into the wild.

Got room for another gift? Then go ahead and grab a festive wallpaper featuring a certain woodland creature, lovingly put together by our amazing art team: gogcom.imgur.com

With a subtle nod of the head, the Holiday Ninja Squirrel would like to thank you all for joining us in the heartwarming price-chopping, certain that she will see you back for all the joyful events to follow.

cecil: So far is it kind of like Shattered Steel?
avatar
Grargar: Somewhat, but with better controls and a team that you can order them to do stuff.
Sounds like a win to me thanks :-)

timppu: I wonder why Pathologic Classic HD isn't shown as "Owned" even in the game card, even though i have the game in my library already? Is it because I got it as a freebie due to having the original Pathologic already?
I experienced the free game upgrade bug (was supposed to be 70% off, but the code just up and gave me the upgrade without payment), but it's showing as owned in the catalog for me... {shrug} Who knows?

cecil: I HIGHLY recommend them all Escape Goat 2 may be better then the first for polish sakes but EG 1 and Luftrausers makes a good pair graphically.
Agreed, Escape Goat 2 improves on the original in pretty much every way. But the original is still worth having as well, at least to me, since that's what I started with. Folks looking for just one though should definitely plump for the superior second title.

IronArcturus: Has anyone checked out their own Wishlist lately? Why is the "Discounted" filter gone now? That was a really useful filter for sales...
For me it's gone too. I only have price under $10 and under $20, which isn't very helpful as a wishlist filter.

But the soundtracks comes with the first and they are pretty awesome if you like that style of music :-)

Good point! Another reason to have both. The soundtrack is quite good indeed.

CarrionCrow: A suggestion to people checking the sale. As I was just reminded by RWarehall, there are GOG items on sale that aren't being shown on the front page.
If you go to the games section, then filter it by all discounted items, those extra items are shown.
If only the games section would have a setting to filter out the already owned games. That would makes things so much easier.
Nevermind - Bought The Wolf Among Us to test myself.

Postal 2 is 0.99 cents? Shoot, if you like "different" type of shooter in an open-world setting and don't mind strong violence in a goofy context, pick that up! There are many secrets to the game, too, so exploration is rewarded.

Postal 2 and Pajama Sam go together well.

Two ways to do that:
1) Install Barefoot Essentials, which has this feature (not sure if enabled by default, though).
2) Get your library from GOG into MaGog (takes seconds) and use MaGog's filters (requires learning to use MaGog).

Day 3
Of creation and annihilation.

Make. Unmake. Life is a fragile thing. For thousands of years we've built, learned, iterated, perfected. We've made our mistakes, taken two steps forward, one step back. And so, Day 3 of the Big Winter Sale presents humanity at its best, and at its most decadent.

Become a force of progress, be the uncompromising pursuit of power and grandeur, cement your place as gods of the animal kingdom. Immortalize all that you are, all thanks to our handy CityBuilder Kit! At up to 80% off, you too can take the reigns of history in Pharaoh + Cleopatra, Caesar 3, Zeus + Poseidon, and Children of the Nile. Educational!
Where does all of it take us? One answer is the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Pack at up to 75% off. And it is one hell of an answer. So descend into man-made hell, all but forgotten by men and the powers that be, walk in the Shadow of Chernobyl, obey the Call of Pripyat, dream of reuniting with the Clear Sky.
Tomorrow comes in two: Of threes and tales.

Big Winter RIP-OFF you mean?

Just bought a bunch of mystery games and got a lot of games I already owned. Then unlocked some other games I already owned.

Don't download a thing and ask for refund.
GOG should have changed this ages ago...

Sorry about asking this here and my noobish level, but how do I reply without reposting all the topic content? Thanks

Be sure to send in a Support ticket. The wishlist bug is still affecting people.
So anyone played with Firestarter - opinions?

I didn't really like it. It's not a point a to b shooter. You get stuck in a room with some baddies you have to kill. You kill them, you get stuck in another room with some tougher baddies. Rinse and repeat.
