500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

Finale - 2/2

Marioface5: EDIT: There's also this mysterious, different background. Based on the dimensions, maybe it's for mobile? I have no idea.
Yep it is for the mobile site! ;)

Siegor: Quick question: can mystery games be gifted as a "surprise" ?
Yes they can! :)
avatar
Vitek: Then what would you call it?
avatar
Pardinuz: I'd call it a mediocre discount considering the game is over 1 year old.
Obviously you're free to think of it what you will, but there are a few factors to keep in mind:

- The developers don't like putting the game on sale to begin with
- The game was funded through Kickstarter, which likely contributes to the smaller discount (to avoid putting the game on sale for less than backers had to pay to get it)
- Shovel Knight has currently had one free expansion, with at least two more on the way along with other updates

more sales.... oh my... I guess the mystery gift sounds fun (probably stupid, but still fun) :)

yyahoo: Mystery Game is broken. I ordered one and got nothing in my account, and my order history simply says that I bought "Mystery Game".

CarrionCrow: Same thing happened here. Looking in email, library, nothing showing up for it anywhere.
We're looking into this right now, really sorry about the bug or whatever it may be. Stay tuned for an update!

Well GOG, I just got the Star Wars blaster bundle and now I'm hoping you won't tempt me with anything else in this sale.

8 games from the bundle + existing backlog of 17 games puts me back up to 25 but my primary wishlist is now down to a single game (Return to Castle Wolfenstein) so I should be able to resist anything you throw at me now until well into next year >:)

Also, HI SQUIRREL!!!!!! :D

ggf162: SHOVEL KNIGHT IS ON SALE

I REPEAT

SHOVEL KNIGHT IS ON SALE
Now all we need is Arx Fatalis.
Quick observation - Apparently the Mystery Games are ‘worth between $9.99 and $34.99’, games you don’t own are prioritized, and they’re not part of the regular sale line-up. I’d be interested to know what treasures GoGers unearth from there.

Shovel Knight is 33% off. There have been a few threads this past year wondering if the thing ever goes on sale, and now their dream has been realized.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong and Pillars of Eternity at 50% off is a steal. Far more than an asset swap, Shadowrun: Hong Kong is steeped in Eastern mythology and really throws itself into the setting. Pillars of Eternity is a pure RPG designed to look like Baldur’s Gate, but with Obsidian’s remarkable talent for storytelling at the wheel.

Okay, sounds good. Will keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, I'll try to drown my sorrows in all the other stuff I just bought. ;)
Star Wars X-Wing 1993
Star Wars X-Wing 1998
Star Wars Tie Fighter 1994
Star Wars Tie Fighter 1998
Star Wars X-Wing Collector's CD 1994
Star Wars Tie Fighter Collector's CD 1995

and still no proper version of Loom.
If it's helpful for diagnostic purposes at all, I also am stuck with the 'Mystery gift' glitch.
Another sale? Already? *speechless*
