jackster79: My thanks to you all for the feedback.
Any time! It's a tough one - I LOVED it but I can completely see where the people who were turned off by certain aspects of it have very valid points - it's hard to know where someone will fall on whether or not they get totally sucked into the game or utterly turned off by it.

IronArcturus: Does anyone know if the keyboard can be remapped to WASD controls in that Terra Nova game?
You want to remap to WSAD ? i kinda 'hate' games which use wasd as a default instead of using the normal cursors (left right up down) as default , most of the time you can redefine keys, i always stick to the cursors (to the right) and some keys to the left so i can easily use 2 hands.
cursors for movement and the left part of the keyboard to use shooting and more, this works the best in my case, been doing it for years since commodore c64,of course most of games used the joystick which was a blessing to use, ofcourse joysticks and mice arent very good for the wrists , but the ease of use is what counts :D

I like discounts just like everyone else but the way gog is doing it is annoying. There were Star Wars packs yesterday, I missed them, now they're gone. Why not just leave it on sale for the whole duration of the season? We KNOW all these deals are going to be back at the end of the season anyway, so now I need to wait another week and don't miss that window again.

Come on guys, these deals changing every day are silly. Not everyone can be online 24/7 to not miss that one day with the deals.
Oh my, lots of offers that interest me today when the first two days held very few. Now for the sad problem of choosing what little I can afford :-(. Ugh!

How much of a must have is the DLC pack for Tropico 4?

Something tells me you would hate Insomnia...
A suggestion to people checking the sale. As I was just reminded by RWarehall, there are GOG items on sale that aren't being shown on the front page.
If you go to the games section, then filter it by all discounted items, those extra items are shown.

So basically you would like them to put up all the games they plan to sale at once, instead of surprising the users which games will be put up on sale?

Even the lulls are good. There's something about sitting at your computer, bitching and hoping and gnashing your teeth for some slow-moving piece of crap to finally get the hell out of the way, and knowing that there are thousands of people all chomping at the exact same bit, thinking the exact same thing you are.

Smannesman: Hmm well both Nexus and Steam Workshop seem to have very little in the way of content.
It doesn't look like a very active community.
Oh there are 'sexy mods' of course ;)
That's a pity. I love games with the option to create custom stories, but for some reason it often seems to be a gamble, some catch on, others don't. I guess it's hard to find the right balance between complexity and accessibility, making your editor both powerful enough to attract ambitious modders, as well easy enough to understand that you can just jump in and create something not too shabby in a comparatively short time. From what I had seen I had high hopes for D:OS, but then again, I had those for Driftmoon, too. Oh well.

Let them enjoy their sexy mods, I guess. ;)

Well I am an FPS gamer so WASD is natural to me! :P I played a demo of Terra Nova, but the controls were pretty odd. They'd used W, A, D, X and sidestep was mapped to Z and C for some reason. I was wondering if sidestep could be remapped to A and D, and if backwards be remapped to S in the full game.

It uses the same basic control layout as System Shock, so it's basically just WASD shifted down by one row. Quite ahead of it's time, really.

If you want, you can use Dosbox's built-in keymapper to change the controls (CTRL+F1).

CarrionCrow: Insomnia is for impatient masochistic speed freaks.

Dear gods, I love that sale...
me too, but in the beginning i always missed the game i wanted, cause these seemed to be on when i was off (sleeping at night)
but now , i have almost every game here that i can play (regarding my motionsickness/photosenistivy) so chances are very small i might miss a game and have to wait for the final day to get it.

From the upcoming games i probably get: Fallen Enchantress: Legendary and the 2dlc cause i got the steam versions long time ago when they were on sale at GG(gamersgate) but since i seldom login my old xp, i cant play ,plus you also needed a 3d party account for stardock it is, i believe and thats the limit.
So i get it if the price is okay, paid around 10 euros at a sale long time ago and also the 2 dlc at that time were nicely priced.

I download the big alpha demo for: Under Rail, first i created a restorepoint on win7 to prevent the alpha from messing up some files, so i can always go back to the good point :D
I have screenshot from the game (youtube)
i had to adjust the gamma its quite dark
i must say the screen looks crowded with message and info, it looks like fallout classic so thats why i wanted to see the demos on youtube and i am gonna try and see if the alpha demo will work on my win7.

One thing is a bit weird: when you move all the rooms automatically show the contents , doors are 'open' and tiles are colored, and that is a bit too much, fallout 1 did not had that, so i think its kinda 'irritating' for my eyes, but i will try the demo first and decide later.
And maybe the requirement are too large and i cant play it, i will have too see after i played the demo.
check the attchments, the underrailscreen2 shows how crowed the screen is so i assume its for very large screens, i use old 17inch ctx (also for reasons i already explianed when explaining which games i can and cant play)
So bascially its quite a challenge to get some good games without too many motions ligth effects and more modern nonsens and 3d.

werfault is also launched withe the alpha demo, i dont like any microsoft snooping so i shut it down and the demo wasnt responding right after that, so the werfault needs to be active for this alpha demo, okay then i will disable the internet and see if the demo will work.

check: underrail_settings_on_my-screen , it is to big for 1024 (my recommended default settings by win7)
so i have to play around with the settings.

tfishell: Pajama Sam Vols on sale? Noice! Wish we could finally see the other Humongous games though.
Agreed. I'd love to see the Humongous Pack here. It's available from Steam, so hopefully it finds its way here. :)
