500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

Goodbye winter sale 2015 and squirrel. :)

phaolo: I don't know why Gog decided to end the big promos on Sunday.
It was perfect on Monday, like the recurring weekend promos.
Probably so they can start the Weekly Staff Pick at the usual time (11 AM GMT), as the promo would end at 2 PM GMT. Of course, they could always have a single launch time for the both of them, but it's never simple/easy with GOG.

Another year goes by, though it was a good sale I was never fond of the mystery boxes. Surprises are rarely pleasant in my experience.

I liked Monday better as well (or at least Sunday evening). To be honest, the Fall Sale's ending took me by surprise. Okay, there was a big countdown at the front page and actually I was too stupid to pay attention. However, Sunday afternoon would have been nice for buying a last game in the sale .. if it wouldn't had already ended.
Another cool GOG sale. Not to sound like a broken record but i do hope future sales will also include more movies/docs again. And i hope the next Insomnia Sale is not too far off!
I just counted how many games I bought, 36! I'll be pretty busy :)
Did anyone buy more games than me? Just curious.

Well if one wanted to sit during the entire event then yeah it is next to impossible to grab everything. But Insomnia goes through 3 repeating rounds with the latter rounds taking much longer and from my experience it is possible to get most everything you want from the sale even with limited time. And if that doesn't work out there is always the community who can help you out.For me the Insomnia Sale is the sale that brings the community together the most of any sale.It is great fun but, as always, to each their own.

It is a flash sale of sorts that goes through 3 repeating rounds.

As ALH mentioned, it's a kind of flash sale, except instead of games only being on sale for a limited amount of time, they have a limited amount of copies available at that discount, and whenever all those copies are sold (whether it takes a few minutes or half a day), a new game is put up. Popular, sought-after games (e.g., TIE Fighter) tend to sell quite quickly (especially since they often have no more than a few hundred flash-discounted copies available at a time), whereas less-popular titles (such as...oh, I don't know...Jack Keane?) can sit there on the front page for hours, bringing the sales pace down to a crawl.
Also, there's typically a system in place where you have a small chance to randomly get a game for free when you go to the checkout screen, which is just another incentive to keep you glued to your screen to see what the next deal will be. :)
Smart thinking.
Somebody said "insomnia"? Yes, please. I'd order at least one more THIS year. Swear I will get Nox just for giggles.
