adamhm: Mint used to follow the latest versions of Ubuntu, but when Canonical shortened the support period for non-LTS releases they stopped doing that and now just use the LTS releases of Ubuntu. As written in the guide: (...)
If what you're using now works fine for you now & you don't need/want features added in newer versions of Mint then no need to upgrade, the available packages should mostly be the same and the available kernels will all be the same.
I'll stick to Sarah then :) However, regarding packages and kernels - are you sure? I always thought that the differences are quite significant. My repo version of Wine is still 1.8 and also kernel seems to be 4.4 vs 4.8 in Mint 18.2. Since I'm using PlayOnLinux and your wrappers, have old hardware and use PPAs for apps I need to have in bleeding-edge versions, it'll be fine, indeed, to wait for the next edition.

Regarding giveaway, please, be so kind to count me in for:

> Deus Ex GOTY Edition
> The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition
> Sam & Max Hit the Road

By the way, I'm continuing with Witcher using installation made by your wrapper and it works great except one issue, which appeared in case of many users from Windows also (stuck in loading Outskirts of Vizima), but it was easy to fix by loading last manual save. Thanks a lot for providing me the efortless solution for Witcher EE on Linux! :)
Hey Adam! Thanks for another generous giveaway.

I am in for Infinifactory.

Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Key word for Linux kernel here is available even if not the recommended one. I clearly remember kernel 4.8.x being available in Linux Mint 18.1 too.

(I upgraded to Mint 18.2 yesterday from 18.1. Smooth process but for having to restart TWICE, rare on Linux.)

The main package differences are the Mint-specific packages (otherwise the packages will be the same between them - Mint 18.x releases are all based on Ubuntu 16.04 and share its repositories) and when you perform an upgrade through the Update Manager the kernel isn't changed.

You can upgrade the kernel through the Update Manager (view the list of available kernels by doing "View --> Linux kernels"). You don't necessarily need to upgrade to a newer version though; if everything works fine & there's no particular features/enhancements that you need in the later kernels then sticking with the 4.4 kernels is fine.
