It's always nice to see more GOG games compatible with Linux!

I'd like to try my luck on:
1. Train Fever
2. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power
3. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition
4. Shadowrun: Hong Kong

I was also looking into the Linux Mint distro, and was wondering which desktop environment was the best. I've heard of Cinnamon, Gnome, and XFCE. Also, are the .sh files easy to compile on Linux Mint? I know GOG doesn't use the prepackaged .deb files anymore.

The .sh installers seem to be quite easy to use, but if you prefer .deb packages we’re a couple people working on that ;)

Using Linux for nearly a year now with a Windows / Debian Jessie dualboot on my PC. Also having Arch Linux as the sole OS on my laptop for a weeks now.

I've been a linuxer for ages, but with the switch over to my new laptop with much better hardware (and a graphics card), I was having far too much of a hassle getting any game to run, so I am ashamed to say I sorta gave up. I still have xubuntu on dualboot, but it is mostly there for when I want to work without being distracted (although I still run facebook and stuff through links in the terminal which makes it look like I'm working :D). If I could hire someone and hand them over my laptop for a bit with saying "Fix this for all the games it could play", I'd totally do that.

In the mean time, I gave my old laptop to my mother, which I suppose is sort of being mean, but she seems to have really taken to xubuntu, so much so that she gets frustrated when she has to use Word in her school. And she prefers the solitaires that are available on xubuntu more also :D.

The first two Witcher games run fine on high end Lenovo Linux laptop. But you have to tweak the settings to minimum if small black boxes start showing up in the screen a few minutes into the game. After that it will run fie.

The day that most of my games (I have a lot of games in my Steam library and some older retail stuff) will work on Linux, I'll make the jump without hesitation. I would probably start dual-booting once I get a new hdd.

No play it is a project which offers you scripts and installation instructions for several windows games so that you can install them on Linux..

Also for desktops: is a remake of old gnome 2 linux desktop which some people preferred to [url=https://www.gnome.org/gnome-3/]gnome 3 that succeded it and which looks similar to mac desktops.

For .sh installers from gog all you need to do is download them, then right click on them, click on properties, click on permissions tab and click on the box next to allow executing file as program. After that you click on the file and click on run or run in terminal and the graphical installer which is basically the same as in windows opens and then is just next, next, finish.

Not entering I just wanted to say this is a very clever idea and I hope it gets more people playing on linux (HA)

I tried reading that thread, but when I saw the complicatedness of it, I wanted to cry.
You can have a +1, but I'm not switching to Linux until Windows bites the dust.

As for Linux, my experience was with Ubuntu, well sometimes, and then LXLE. At some point I tried SolydK or SolydX on a virtual machine and tried installing Duke Nukem 3D on it but things didn't go well (the VM freezed). What I'm currently thinking of is not a Linux distro but rather an Android distro called Remix OS that is to be out soon, which has full compatibility with PCs, mouses and keyboards, and puts Android apps in windows. I'm hoping to try that out in the case that it actually is the best Android experience on PC given that I love the Android ecosystem.

The problem will be dual booting a system without messing with Windows 10's safe boot or whatever.
