CMOT70: Journey has quietly slipped from "coming" to released today as well. I bought it- my first ever Epic purchase $4.99 with the Epic $10 discount. Hopefully they didn't mess up the port, I'm going to play it as soon as I'm done with what I'm currently playing.
Do you get the installer for Journey?
Can you play it offline once you installed it?
wish develoeprs would see the money making potential of GOG cos they can sell old games here DRM free

im suprised activision doesnt put call of duty 1 - 5 in a collection here i mean we all know how money hungry bobby kotic is.

some games would just be left in history to rot if it wasnt for gog its why iwant the old dynasty warriors games here cos i only think they sell 6 - 9 on steam but 9 is ap ile of shite so i wouldnt want it here anyways

They might as well publish it on a platform of their own at some point and take 100% of the profits.

I'm still a few days away from getting to play it. But I just did two things quickly right now that I can confirm- I started the game directly from the .exe and the game starts up without needed the Epic launcher open. I copied the Journey folder to another hard drive in it's entirety and started the game from it's .exe and that also worked. So at this time it does seem like you could just download the game, zip it and make your own stand alone installer.

Of course you will need the Epic launcher for multiplayer and, to me, Journey without multiplayer is not the full experience- so I'll be using the launcher to play anyway. Likewise if it comes to GOG (and I think it will) people will also need Galaxy for multiplayer I'd assume.

Still don't get the big hoorah about epic; the store is fine, then again I would be happy to buy a DVD from a retail store if I could. Purchased a few games from there, I don't see anything that really gets between me and the important part of playing my games.

same. ive gotten a bunch of super cheap games even one 60 dollar AAA for 5 bucks. ive also gotten for free 3 games that were on my gog wishlist. i know its not drm free, but frankly i dont have room to store more of my drm library till i upgrade. its also surprisingly freeing to just uninstall when done with the game instead of stressing about collecting it. another weird thing I noticed is that i PLAY those games there. it may have to do with saturation overload. a mini library to scan vs one with hundreds of games.

*shrug

it is what it is

All three games I've bought from Epic start without the client, directly from the .exe. All three are indie games though, so not sure if that applies to bigger stuff like Metro 3 or whatever. It's nice to see though.
First Phoenix Point, now Shenmue 3 - REALLY makes me wish CDPR (as one of the renowned and respected players in the business) would be the one finally setting an example and give the EGS a taste of their own medicine by denying them Cyberpunk 2077 for 12 months. Let the "Soon" on the pre-order page actually be "Soon™" (as in indefinitely).

So sick of this exclusivity bullshit.
gaming is going down the pan atm i wonder when its gonna crash, cos i can see one coming cos people will get sick of the delayed content in games, the micro transactions people can only take so much until they start doing something aobut it.

the exclusive thing wont last with epic and they only have fortnite to sustain them now all there other games are trash and not even worth playing, even most of there exclusives they have are shit.

How out of touch can one be ? CDPR and GOG are nothing compared to Epic Games which is 40 % owned by Tencent a company worth more than 100$ billion with over 50 000 employees. If you ever read a news article about Steam and Epic competition, you will never see GOG being mentioned, it is small and irrelevant. With Cyberpunk CDPR is putting all its eggs in one basket, first big game after 5 years, they need to release this game with guns firing at all fronts to return their investment and not do stupid risks and gambles.
low rated
I'm fully aware that I can play some titles on epic and nothing is standing between that. I want to play solar ash kingdom legally.

I still want money grabbing epic to fail. I want to play some of the titles on gog and epic did take interesting exclusives. They made gog irrelevant in game industry. They virtually and practically bought studios with their demand for exclusivity and they act like shit on actual buyouts by other companies.

If Larian Studios can do that, I do not think CDPR cannot.
Maybe you think a Fortnite launcher has more purchasing power on a real AAA game when it is not exclusive in Epic?

Why aren't you raging about it being one of the many Steam exclusives or demanding that Shenmue 1+2 then 3 gets put on GoG?

Here's the wishlist. for them.

My bad, should have specified a bit more. As in:

"So sick of this Fucking-Epic-snatching-up-crowdfunded-games-that-were-supposed-to-release-on-anything-but-the -fucking-Epic-store-that-didn't-even-exist-back-when-those-games-were-crowdfunded-bullshit".
Deep Silver/Yu Suzuki accepting that big fat sack of Fortnite coins are to blame too, of course.
