BranjoHello: I used to love Argentina in the period of TRUE legends like Ortega, Veron and Batistuta. I was always cheering for them.
Today, I say GO FORTH YOU DESCENDANTS OF ODIN AND THOR AND PEE ON MESSI!!! :D

nicohvc: France 98

What you see in the attached picture are the coca cola figurines
Hard to believe a group of players that small could even qualify for the Tournament.

tinyE: Watching Peru/Denmark and the guy calling the game is driving me nuts. :P No words, all he does is yell. XD

Mr.Mumbles: You clearly haven't watched any/enough football matches with Mexican commentators. They're always over the top. I actually thought it was pretty funny in comparison to the more calm demeanor of the usual ones we get on English-speaking channels.

Can't fault them for getting excited about watching the beautiful game. ;)
Surprised nobody posted this yet xD

Spain vs Portugal best game so far.
Australia vs France? -- Not the pasting most expected.
Mexico has put up some very exciting (albeit unsuccessful) teams in WC past. Do they have a chance in hell to make today's game close?
Hoping we will win Costa Rica today.

Also looking forward to Germany - Mexico and Brazil - Switzerland. If all goes well, should be good football today. :p

France, Argentina and Croatia disappointed me with their play yesterday, was expecting them to play on higher level. But The World Cup just started, they'll probably increase the form with upcoming matches.

Well, we just lost against Austria and played 2-1 against Saudi Arabia. Obligatory "Germany never takes friendlies seriously", but basically: yes, there is a chance.

I was disappointed with Nigeria. None of the African teams put a good show so far.
If a ref misses an egregious foul, one that would warrant a suspension (like a punch), can officials go back post match and penalize the player?

In a lot of sports over here if, lets say a player punches another, and the ref misses it, no penalty comes down then and the game itself is obviously not effected, but the league will review the incident and issue discipline for that player with regard to future games be it a fine or suspension.
What a tough match for us. Our team is so slow, they probably didn't want Costa Rica to play their game since faster play suits them more. Fantastic goal by our captain Kolarov.

Germany - Mexico next in 10 minutes, looking forward.
Does Germany know the game started?
And I just saw a great commercial with Landon Donovan and his friend complaining about the States not making the World Cup.

Landon looks down at his phone, "Hmmmm, report of suspicious card activity at the Mexican National Team Shop."

His friend says, "That is unusual."

Landon says, "Not really." and pulls off his jacket to reveal a 'Mexico WC 2018' shirt. XD

I guess they do not know! It's as if their ghost is playing this evening. The Germany defense is just plain awful. Mexico deserved to finish the half time with 1-0 score. Let's see if Germany can level the game.
Germany is lucky they are only down one...

Indeed! Mexico missed many opportunities.
Great performance by Mexico so far but then again Germany is my n.1 candidate to win the world cup! 2nd half will be even tougher... Hope they can keep up.
