Seems like all the top 4 teams got something @ least, hopefully the other 3 other than France wld be happy with that.

Btw, any1 know how is FIFA Fair Play award decided? Least cards, fouls or the way they played decided by whoever? I thought Japan played pretty decent as a team, i meant in terms of not hving too many bad tackles. Maybe they shd hv gotten a most humble or cleanliness team or something, haha.

Linko90: Shame a good world cup ended with such a bad showing of how to ref a game :/
Well, how about giving Croatians on GoG 85% discount on all games, to cheer us up?

Bad luck for Croatia, especially with the BS call on Griezmann's dive. That handball penalty was the right call though. ... Mandzukic's goal was pretty funny though when he caught Lloris napping.
Shame Subašić wasn't really in it today. But the rest outplayed France for all but the last 10-ish minutes.

We're definitely proud of the silver medal, our all-time best achievement in international football, and the team will be awaited warmly in multiple Croatian cities in the coming days, but being so close to gold and losing it hurts a bit.
Congrats to France, Croatia and Belgium. The 3 teams which showed the most during this World Cup.

Fewest cards. It was also a tie-breaker in the event there was a tie for 3rd in the group stage. Only teams which advanced to the knockout round were eligible.

I assume they used the same system as for the tiebreaker:
Yellow = 1 point
Red (for two yellows) = 3 points
Straight red = 4 points
Straight red + Yellow = 5 points
Great game!

When France went ahead, I still thought the match would have went to extra time, as Croatia was always very composed team and were able to come from behind. Congrats to both teams, and of course to France for winning it. Respect for the players and coaches they way they handled themselves after the game. It is always classy to see each team congratulate the other after the match.

The only drawback: get rid of replay!! It is such a drag on the game. Futbol (soccer) is the one sport that keeps a running clock with no stoppage. Keep it that way! Sure the replay time is added to stoppage time, but it takes away from the fast pace of the match. I am hoping they get rid of it. They never needed it before, so why start now? Even with the video, most of it is still not conclusive enough. Keep the game the way it was.
Too bad that Croatia could not win, but France played well and gets a deserved victory and world cup.
Congratulations to France are in order!

See you all in four and a half years.

Seven weeks more like.
Livestream of the celebration in Zagreb. 300.000+ people on the streets, the program is hours late because the bus with the players simply can't go through the river of people. Other towns are also organizing welcoming events of their own in the coming days.

Croatia has never seen a celebration this large.
