ZFR: If Croatia wins, I think this will be the first time in a world cup when a team outside of the "favourites" wins. I mean there were upsets before, where the top favourite was eliminated like Germany beating Hungary or Uruguay beating Brazil, but always the eventual winner, even if not *the* top favourite, was at least one of the favourites at the start.

Shall we start with predictions? :)

I believe that on this day Belgium squad will say to themselves "Well, since we can't be first like we should have been, let's at least play like there's no tomorrow and secure the third plce".
England squad on the other hand are still drowning their sorrow in heavy liquor and Mr. Southgate will probably come the the stadium with his waistcoat fully unbuttoned (which will result in waistcoat being on sale -75% all over England for the next month or so).

So I'm watching the pregame, and so far it;s everyone who has ever played in a 3rd place game admitting that when they did, they phoned it in, and yet this year it's going to be different.

I understand that this is the game nobody wanted to play, but I just enjoy watching Hazard - de Bruyne Belgian connection. Just watched the last 30 minutes and the quality of passes is not disappointing. England best chances comes from Trippier set-pieces and it wasn't enough
And from my understanding, the football fans in England come back to club tribalism after the semifinal defeat.

I can't think of a time where I ever actually watched the match for 3rd place. That shit just doesn't matter. Sorry, England. Sorry, Belgium. Too bad, so sad. =P

I used to watch club football, all the time, was a saints fan. Stopped completely last year, as everything was about the money, from opening news about xyz going for 60 billion squillion pounds through every part of the game. Ruined it totally, only watch euros and World Cup from now on as like a good bit of punishment every couple of years.
