Hey, Argentina did it after all and Diego Maradona showed his middle fingers lol

Yes, it's typical Maradona!

In the group stage everything is possible if you get at least 1 point in your first 2 games. Here's what I wrote 5 days ago on Argentina's chances to qualify:

"Even though Argentina got only 1 point in the first 2 games, they can still qualify for the second round. If Nigeria gets a draw or a win against Iceland, Argentina will have hope again. And if they beat Nigeria in the last game and Croatia gets minimum 1 point from Iceland, Argentina qualifies! Of course, if Iceland wins tomorrow, they will have almost no chance to qualify."

tomyam80: Well, once they knew Peru was ahead aft half-time both teams knew a draw btw them will probably be enough
No way. France wanted to win this match badly with an avalanche of goals, to prove that they are not the huge disappointment that everybody thinks they are, so far anyway. They didn't show up for a draw and neither did the Danish players. For pity, this match was so boring that as far as I'm concerned, it was worse than watching a match with Italy playing. They seriously need to wake up and Deschamps needs to make up his mind or they are going to get their ass kicked by the mediocre Argentina.

That being said, this world cup is a tough one. Underdogs are hungry and the so called big teams are up against a wall. I don't like the match I saw today, but overall I'm enjoying this world cup.
Holland just got killed by Greece.

It wasn't IRL, it wasSuper Arcade Football, but cut me some slack. I need something to fill the gaps between real games.
Poor Nigeria they were so close but that 2nd penalty they didn't get... nice present for Argentina in the end. :p

It's gonna be interesting to see if Croatia beats Denmark and Spain wins Russia, they would meet afterwards.

It wasn't a penalty. Bounced off defender's head. I wanted Nigeria to qualify over Argentina too, though.

Mostly wanted Iceland to qualify. If only they scored instead of Croatia.

Yeah that's what i said. :p

But seriously i believed they could qualify, in the end they got careless.
Ugh. Piss-poor performance by the German team. They really did not deserve to advance.
Holy skit, Germany is out of World Cup! O.o
There goes one of my favourite teams. Quite impressed with the Korean team though, specially the goalkeeper, he was on point.
My heart goes out to some of you and my cheers go out to others, but love it or hate it, I think the unpredictability and the thrill of this year's tournament have done a lot to open up interest to those parts of the world, MY PART OF THE WORLD, where international football simply doesn't get the respect and admiration it deserves.

THRILLING THRILLING STUFF, and a joy to witness.

As for these outcomes, there is a saying from American football taken from Super Bowl III when the greatest team on earth was trounced by an upstart team of kids in an upstart league: "That's why they play the game!"

ps. and now with that said, Mexico is going to get the fuck beat out of them by Brazil. :P

How bad was those German teams? Maybe the worst ever. I think they miss Lahm and Schweinsteiger leadership. Goetze and Sane's flair could be useful, but it's all hindsight now. But I guess Ozil is an easy black sheep.

Should have played like one, then.
At least the torture is over now and this is better than dropping out in the RO16 or the quarterfinals.

Not necessarilly. There was no Lahm and no Schweinsteiger in 2017 and that year went really really well for Germany.
And Sane is a liability.

I don't believe I just saw that game. They were t good but you always expect them to fluke one at the end like they did against Sweden. Not been good in any of their games.
Now Brazil are not safe either...
Wasn't expecting that. Good for Mexico though.
