nightcraw1er.488: I wouldn't give up hope yet, whilst they won earlier they really aren't a shadow of a good team at the moment.

PainOfSalvation: I don't know, i'm so disappointed right now. Our team morale is probably very low and Brazil have best individuals in the world, i just think it's impossible to win.

Regarding the match with Swiss, i didn't like how Brych was handling the match, it felt like he was giving them advantage all the time. Also, if this is not penalty, i don't know what is.
Yes, that most definitely was a penalty. VAR would have picked it up, on the other hand I am getting quite tired of the American football way of make a play then stop for 5mins, then go again, just so everything can be run through video. They do say karma has a tendancy to even itself out so maybe neymar will do his classic slow motion bend over backwards falling to try and win a penalty and actually get sent off this time.
I'm hearing from a lot of people that Brazil fans should be worried because the team is acting like they won the Cup after barely beating a mediocre team in group play. Suggestions are that maybe their mindset isn't right to actually win the Tournament.

Thoughts?

Yup, as I said above, they may have won yesterday, but they aren't a tournament winner as yet. That can change very quickly however. Let's see how the last group games go before ruling anyone out.

BTW, does everyone over-analyze this stuff or is it just an American thing? :P During half times of games over here broadcasters will WAY overdue it. I'm not kidding!

"Well Jim, he has shown that when playing on Tuesdays with an odd numbered date during months ending in 'R' that he is much more effective in the second half! Look for him to come out and take this game over!"

Nothing like that.
We generally analyze the actual game, then throw to an outfield reporter that tries to catch anyone to ask them something Germany-related, whether it has any connection to the game or not, to see if S-Senpai noticed us, and finally Oliver Kahn gets annoyed by some player crying on the pitch.
Can't complain, really.

Not analyzing per se, but when I stayed there I liked the statistics (though I didn't watch much soccer but other sports)... "He's the fifth player in history to have more scores than assists in first half of his home games..." Oookay.

I don't think we over analyse the games at half time, most of the time I am left wondering if the panel were even watching the same game or know where they are. A few of the commentators are ok, like the England game, the commentary appeared to consist of - how many ways can you say it's hot!
I suppose the other thing is that there isn't half an hour of adverts in between each minute of play, so less time to fill :o)

We also have our fair share of ridiculous statistics (and equally ridiculous predictions). Such as, "Real Madrid has not won a game played in Germany in the last 30 years, so the next match, which is completely unrelated to the previous ones and involves a different set of players, will have the same result". Or more recently, "Liverpool has always won the Champions League final if there was a Royal wedding the same year".
Much respect to the South Korean team they jus wouldnt give up... It wasnt such a well played game in terms of technique too many missed opportunities and balls flying over the goal by both teams but it was very dinamic and entertaining imo.Looking forward to watching Germany vs Sweden next!
Phew, now that was nerve-wrecking. :P
I wish my country would have that German football mentality, it always gets them far on each Championship.

They discovered it's not so easy to win when your opponent's goals actually get counted.

We don't want Germany to leave the World Cup at group stage. Last time they did was in 1938. To say they didn’t take it well would be an understatement.

Well, ackshually ...
1938 didn't have a group stage, the entire thing was knock out. Germany never went out in the group stages yet.
So there's no need to worry, it's only world war if we lose our first knock out game.

Ah I see the original joke was "first round". I dropped the ball there.

Don't worry about it too much. With the ammount of times we get it to hear it, it's actually refreshing to have some variation. ;)
