Compared to a few years ago, my purchases during seasonal promo sales is way down statistically. This is due to a combination of having already bought or got a huge chunk of the games I wanted previously en-masse and now having a massive backlog on both GOG and Steam and other services, while the price of certain games has went up slightly in general, the price has also went up due to the declining Canadian dollar by 30% or more, and game companies are now selling really old games for $10-20 which would have been $2 in a bargain bin 15 years ago, which makes them less appealing to buy now for nostalgia sake. So nowadays I tend to be much pickier about what I buy and what I'm willing to pay for it, opting to wait it out over the long haul if it is not a game I am itching to play immediately. Occasionally some truly good deals do still pop out of the woodwork that I can't resist however, but nowhere near how it was 2+ years ago.
Purchases so far this promo:
- The Witcher Adventure Game
Freebies:
- Spelunky
Potential possibilities I'm particularly pondering purchasing:
- The Elder Scrolls bundle
- Star Trek bundle
- Prince of Persia bundle
Probably going to wait until the last day of the sale to see what other bundles pop up before making any decisions though.
