Ancient-Red-Dragon: The 10th Anniversary Collection III bundle is an unbelievably good deal that even includes a recent AAA game, and two other games, for only $25 USD.
Thanks for that, I almost missed that deal. I didn't have any of the three games yet and the Kingdom Come was wishlisted for me. Great deal indeed.

And yeah I also got the free Shadow Warrior 2, didn't have that either. Overall this sale has been a bit confusing for me with some many competing deals (hence I missed the AAA deal), but I got those four games now and I am very happy. I had luck as I didn't have any of those games yet, and Kingdom Come was at the top of my wishlist.

Yep, here is 1 refunded.

toxicTom: Crazy contests
Wasn't that EnigmaticT's thing?
Making up crazy contests?

Judas made some efforts in the past...but nothing like what the EnigmaticT did.
I miss him...and his contests.

We had in general much more contests earlier on GOG than we do now.
And if there is one, it's often restricted to some form of social media like FB, etc.

It's a pity.

Oh god...I sound like my own grandfather...now get off my lawn, you young punks!

I think 'whippersnappers' is the preferred nomenclature here.

EnigmaticT is sorely missed, that's for sure. But even after he left... "Escape from prison with the help of a snow globe, a pool noodle and pickles"? That was funny. Is the actual atmosphere at GOG HQ really that bad that all creativity is strangled? 0_o

You should be doing PR for GOG. lol
Let's see...

What we got:
-A week-long sale.
-Huge selected discounts (the three bundles).
-Good old games (Soldier of Fortune and Indy).
-A big "it will never be here" game added (Stellaris).
-A few more games added during the week.
-Site redesign.
-Improved reviews (filters and verified owners).
-Massive giveaway (Shadow Warrior 2).
-A forum-based contest.

What we requested but didn't get:
-Forum redesign.
-Mobile app.
-Huge rampage of new titles added.
-Lowest prices ever for most games.
-Skyrim.

Not a bad balance.

Given how the site redesign turned out I guess we're lucky :P

I second this. If how they redesigned the shop front is any indication, the forum would become bandwidth hungry and featureless.

And no Linko karaoke! (Especially the Skyrim karaoke.) :(
Value of anniversary events are always going to be dependent on the games you want / the games you already own and the sales they do.

Whilst I was still hoping for some more big name games coming here, a few more older EA Releases like Mass Effect, C&C etc would be amazing but getting Stellaris here made it a win. Over the last couple of years that is the game I have sunk the most hours into and keep going back to play. A nice big name game still in its life cycle.

....but if we're being honest;

I'll never be happy until everything is on GOG. So I'll take what I get.
I'm really not sure if this was a great sale or not. I noticed the three bundles on the front page and the only one that I didn't own any games in would cost too much when I factor in the current dollar exchange for my currency. Had to skip it.

Other than the bundles I would usually browse the store looking for decent discounts, but... hell no, it is a nightmare in this new format. If only we could sort by discount % or discounted price I would filter out most of what doesn't interest me and keep to things I have a realistic chance of buying. But apparently the new philosophy is that they should do their best to hide the products from us customers in the hope that we'll see, like and buy other things we wouldn't have bought if we could quickly find what we were looking for.

Of course this new philosophy could backfire for them and get the customer to leave without buying even their original haul. Maybe the customers who now will buy extra offset those that stopped buying? I might be an "anomaly" now because I only got one game from this anniversary and it was the freebie.

So as I said this might have been a great sale with half the catalogue at 90% off but I wouldn't know it. It was so painful to browse the store that I just gave up and accepted I might not get some amazing deal that could be hidden just around the next page.
