tomyam80: Btw, sry if i sidetrack abit but can any1 confirm that downloading using GOG Galaxy is confirmed not 2 hv any issues & has any1 here encountered probs downloading games using GOG Galaxy?
Galaxy is still really new, so people have had more issues with galaxy, overall. However, Galaxy works like the steam client and downloads "snapshots" or "repos" of the files as individual files, rather than installers. Somewhere on the galaxy servers, the game is "pre-installed" and it's just "copying the file structure." Presumably, anything that's happening to the offline installers will likely happen to the galaxy versions as well, however since they're stored separately, it won't necessarily happen to the same games in the same way.
I feel as though you aren't actually thankful.
You registered in 2012, and only now noticed the multipart files?

Were you at a convent or meditating in a monastery for several years?

It's cool man. Thanks for owning. it. GOG is having some files issues right now. Send a support ticket and they may help you fix it as your issue may be one they haven't been made aware of yet.

Ah, didn't know that was how Galaxy works. I always thought it's just a client 2 dl the installers & install/update them automatically that's all. Thks 4 the info.

So, a server or router problem on GOG's end. People should report those unless the problem is brief and not recurring. I would be super annoyed too if it would be impossible to download my game.

gomexicanfood: I bought a game from gog, and instead of making it one simple file to download it's split up into 5 parts, I guess to make it more complicated to download. And something went wrong and now I'm getting errors from downloading the files from the gog website. I'm not downloading Gog Galaxy and I'm never buying another game from gog again.
You could use the old GOG Downloader (www.gog.com/downloader or http://static.gog.com/download/d3/stable/Setup_Downloader_3.6.0_stable.exe to directly download the installation file for Windows). Or any other download helper to avoid errors while downloading from the browser links. The advantage of going via the GOG downloader link (hidden under 'More') is, that it's only one link which will then automatically download all the installation files.

Splitting the installation files into multiple downloads isn't an evil ploy but has a technical reason: some operating systems have problems with files larger than 4 GB. That's while the Windows installation files are split into several chunks of 4 GB or less while the Linux installation files come as one chunk.
The file splitting is also great for single-layer DVDs, which can carry only 4.37GBs technically, so it's easy to burn games into discs if you can't afford a hard drive.
