With all the weight that has its name as a developer of great games throughout history, it is with great joy that I have followed the attitude that THQ Nordic has had with its titles here at GOG.

The developer and publisher of Darksiders, Saint's Row and Desperados not only launches their games here, it also includes full support for GALAXY and, most importantly: it does all of this on the same day that their titles arrive on other platforms.

Congratulations, THQ. The result of his very dignified action can be seen in GOG's list of best selling games. Desperados III, at this very moment, occupies the privileged first position. In this list, it is already possible to detect that the pre-sales of SpongeBob and Destroy All Humans are excellent.

As a GOG user, I make a point of supporting them by buying some of their games from the beginning, which is what I did when I already purchased SpongeBob in the pre-order.

You are showing in a practical way to other developers that DRM free is just a big taboo, and that all we customers want is to be treated with respect.

Congratulations again for the beautiful work. His actions undoubtedly strengthen this store.

To be fair, it's more the "Nordic" part of THQ Nordic, rather than the "THQ" part. ;)

Having said that, thank you THQ Nordic!

While technically correct & great Nordic stuck to their values post acquirement of THQ - a bigger name as Publisher / Developer.
That is why Nordic took "their" name first, and it is more important to "show the world" THQ is onboard DRM-Free.

Oh yes, to be more precise you are correct.
I can only agree with that.
Thank you THQ Nordic for also publishing your games on GOG.
You have my support
SpongeBob SquarePants and Destroy All Humans will be purchased no later than the release day.

I would be very happy about Wreckfest and Deadfall Adventures at GOG.

THQ Nordic is undoubtedly the smartest publisher among the bigs in the video game industry. I'm sure that the savings derived from not implementing unnecessary DRM systems is huge, and releasing his games simultaneously everywhere maximizes the exposure of his games, which will not be as famous as those of other renowned publishers, but certainly include respectable IP.

If they could add the achievements to their "old" games on GOG they would reach perfection.

They're a publisher, not a dev.

Also, Saints Row is handled by Deep Silver despite Volition developing it, and the GOG builds are basically abandoned.
I completely agree with what was said here. THQ Nordic deserves to be supported for its support at GOG. I started using the platform recently, despite my account being from last year, and I intend to buy THQ games only here.

That statement is only partially true, and also it's partially false.

There's plenty of THQ games on GOG that have Steam Achievements yet no Galaxy Achievements.

I and other customers often call out THQ for this inequality, yet they never do anything about it.

They could easily bring every single one of those games up to full parity with their Steam versions by paying some devs (it doesn't even have to be the same devs who made the games) a few bucks to add Galaxy Achievements to all of their games that already have Steam Achievements.

Yet they don't do that, which indicates they don't care that they are treating GOG customers like second-class citizens.

As for the second part of the quoted statement, no, same-day releases is not "the most important thing." Rather, 100% full & absolutely equal parity with the Steam versions of the identical games is the most important thing...and THQ is falling very short of that for the reasons I've just described.

You make a mistake here. Since Darksiders III ALL games launched by THQ Nordic on GOG have achievements (except for old games that don't even have achievements on Steam). My reading on THQ is current, these are your last actions here.

Regarding the second point, I respect your opinion, because I am one of the greatest advocates of achievements in this forum, and I am always asking for them to be included, including going to the developers' Discord groups or Twitter pages, however, I disagree that they are the most important things when we are talking about a platform whose biggest differential is the DRM free policy. This means that having a simultaneous release here and on other platforms is extremely important for the DRM battle.

Finally, count on me to charge THQ itself to add achievements or other missing features in old games. You have all my support.

Darksiders I e II with achievements it would be perfect!

The Darksiders 2 (no controller prompts - basically unplayable) patch for which we had to wait for months is still in my memory but ... yes, they've changed and what the OP said about releasing many games here on day 1 is true as well. So yes, thank you THQ Nordic and continue the good work :)

Saints Row is developed by Volition, not by THQ Nordic. THQ is dead, filled in for bankruptcy some years ago. Nordic just bought the name and rebranded their company name. In fact it's still the same Nordic, also the ones who acquired the infamous JoWood and who came up with the failed Arcania; Gothic 4. And they came up with an enhanced version of titan quest, but never provided a free patch or so for existing owners of titan quest and instead made new expansions which are tied to the new version. Shoddy business.

Did we ever have the original TQ here? Anyway - even the anniversary edition was so often on sale with a really big discount that I stopped counting. It even released with a 75% launch discount here:

Imo it is remarkable that they still support such an old game anymore at all. They do not just release additional DLCs they also add additional features and are still doing bugfixes. It's hard to find many games that old that are still supported in that way.
I don't care for promise breakers.
I like a good appreciation thread where we praise the few good eggs in the games industry.
Thanks THQ Nordic! Also thanks for releasing a Desperados 3 demo, I would have never thought the game was for me, but now that I've played it I just can't wait for it to go on sale so I can purchase it.
