I have been a state of on and off depression plus anxiety and stuff for the past year and half, and one of the things that has helped me through this period of despair has been gaming communities. I've only been on GOG for like 4 months despite having been constantly recommended by my dad for the last 5 years, and I have found it to be the single best community online, with plenty of humor and genuine conversations happening about and because of a common love of video games.

Thank you all and have a great day,

-TheGrand547

EDIT: Thanks for all the kind words <3

retrogaming [1] on reddit is also a very nice community.
They discuss console games more, but also discuss IBM PC or other computer games.
GOG forum have much much less threads about console games.

And yes gaming really helps one in hard times.
I also found that some youtubers producing gaming related content to be quite uplifting.

You try to remove the armour. The armous seems to be stuck on you. You cannot remove the armour.
ID armour.
Cursed unholy ringmail of depression.

You suddenly realise the armour was custom-made for Eric, and that a simple incantation of his measurements allows you to remove the curse.

Yeah, I've found that watching some youtubers can be fun, my favorites for gaming atm are: gggmanlives(for fps's and stuff), YongYea(for updates on more modern games), angry joe show(for the production quality) and total biscuit for his personality

:)
