Journey and Master Mode, golf game, new weather effects - those are only a few features that come along with a large update for Terraria titled Journey’s End. Changes were also made in character and world creation menu, as well as in balancing some of the enemies’ strengths and weaknesses.

SirPrimalform: I'm not really looking for clarification, just pointing out that we're getting shafted as usual.

Sachys: John Shafted? ;)
Ohhhhh yeah.

Aurora3500: Having played around with Journey Mode for awhile since the update came out. I can't recommend it enough.
I feel the same! I played through the game (and then some) during 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.4. Another one from scratch, the beginning is too tedious at this point. I really like the Research function of Journey mode and the changing difficulty, weather etc.. makes it a far more creative and dynamic experience.
Golf! GOLF!!
For those not using Galaxy, seems the installer has been updated to 1.4.0.2

Mirrorio: Golf! GOLF!!
I noticed that. I found the Golfer but I haven't tried it yet. Is it fun?

As it may involve supernatural creatures harassing humble golf players, it's at least 100% more interesting than real-world golf.
I'm still due to try how well golf clubs can be applied to said creatures.

Spectre: Which is what we had with trainers, programs like cheat engine and developer consoles and kits.

dtgreene: And, of course, some players are not comfortable trying to get those things to work, but are more comfortable using a feature that's clearly in the game menus, Also, console versions of games usually don't have access to these features. (Once this update hits consoles, Journey mode will be very nice for those users.)

(In other words, a Journey mode accessible from the main menu is more accessible than the other methods of tinkering with the game.)
That's a good idea too. The irony is Terraria is the type of game where players have to go off searching through wikis in order to find out more about the game.

as far as crafting goes, the guide is actually useful now and will tell you what you can craft from something, and what you will need as a crafting station.

I don't consider myself a builder, and I always have an obsession with conserving absolutely everything that isn't renewable. My builds usually end up not being a lot more complex than rectangles/boxes made of granite/mushrooms/other materials.

With Journey Mode, it is a whole new way of playing. I love being able to duplicate items. There are many powers for you the player to choose to utilize or not. You can play the whole game on godmode and choose not to have enemies at all. Or you can make the game even harder than the legitimate master mode by having Master difficulty and an increased enemy spawn rate.

It is going to be difficult to go back from Journey Mode at this point. I already feel better about the builds I'm making in my new journey playthrough thanks to being able to research and create infinite items from those research at will.
Journey mode: Less creative mode and more of a modular mode, perfect for control freaks like me!
Bought this here, played a LOT of it, then got a free copy via Steam.

The satisfaction of getting all those endgame achievements in five minutes after opening my saved world was surprising for someone who normally doesn't care about those things.

Really wish they had included them on Galaxy with the Journey's End update.

Still, glad to have it here, I have a backup that will work even if something happens to my Steam account.

I will, however, be playing the other copy of this gaame through Galaxy 2.0 since it isn't missing a feature.
It will be nice if Microsoft XNA Framework 4.0 will be included with Windows version of Terraria along with dotNet Framework 4.0 (which is included).
Spent some time figuring out why Terraria is not working. :/
Loving journey mode. Long-term I want to try to unlock every item for duplication (without actually duplicating) ^^
