Journey and Master Mode, golf game, new weather effects - those are only a few features that come along with a large update for Terraria titled Journey’s End. Changes were also made in character and world creation menu, as well as in balancing some of the enemies’ strengths and weaknesses.
Are we missing the official tModloader integration that was supposed to come with Journey's End?

There is a workaround:

Lets see what happens in the future.. :-)

Mr.Mumbles: This is very much the definition of an indie hit with its +30 million lifetime sales... Now where can I find the next unicorn? ;)
Copy another game or two then mod them a little mix them together. :P
Having played around with Journey Mode for awhile since the update came out. I can't recommend it enough.

I don't consider myself a builder, and I always have an obsession with conserving absolutely everything that isn't renewable. My builds usually end up not being a lot more complex than rectangles/boxes made of granite/mushrooms/other materials.

With Journey Mode, it is a whole new way of playing. I love being able to duplicate items. There are many powers for you the player to choose to utilize or not. You can play the whole game on godmode and choose not to have enemies at all. Or you can make the game even harder than the legitimate master mode by having Master difficulty and an increased enemy spawn rate.

It is going to be difficult to go back from Journey Mode at this point. I already feel better about the builds I'm making in my new journey playthrough thanks to being able to research and create infinite items from those research at will.

I kind of assumed they were going with the tModloader thing instead of steam workshop so I was hoping it would come here as well.
So Terraria is Finally finished with all its content updates??? Very happy to see how Terraria grew over the years to this perfection of a game. GG devs I hope your next Terraria based game is even better! Cheers

You could also use Journey mode to experiment with builds to see what you like, then use your favorite build on one of the other modes.

I wish more games would have modes like this, for when I just want to play aroud with things.

Which is what we had with trainers, programs like cheat engine and developer consoles and kits.

In the section talking about future plans yes, but the thing that's actually being announced there is a free DLC. GOG supports DLC.

and it only states on steam. with the addition of steam workshop later it suggests there are no plans beyond that platform.

i mean, of course you can hold out hope, but theres no specific mention of anything but steam (and i think this was the case on their own forums, but i might be wrong).

I'm not really looking for clarification, just pointing out that we're getting shafted as usual.

And, of course, some players are not comfortable trying to get those things to work, but are more comfortable using a feature that's clearly in the game menus, Also, console versions of games usually don't have access to these features. (Once this update hits consoles, Journey mode will be very nice for those users.)

(In other words, a Journey mode accessible from the main menu is more accessible than the other methods of tinkering with the game.)
