Many of us know that Windows 7 will stop receiving support after January 14, 2020. The problem is that I almost exclusively play old games. Modern games in my rotation are CSGO, R6S, PUBG and a few Xbox Live for Windows games like Gears 5 which will come to Steam anyway. The thing is that a few games on GOG just shit on themselves when trying to run them on Windows 10.

Any current W7 users wanna chime in?

Any current W10 users that haven't had any bad experiences?

no issues with win 10 yet. the biggest issues are usually people being paranoid about updates. Some games don't work great on win 7 either so it's just pointless really.
I'm still on Win7, because I dislike what MS did with Win10.

However, using it as a main OS will become problematic in the future.

Are you already on Win10? I'm not sure if I'd revert to Win7 at that point.
There are solutions with Virtual Machines for games, but they don't seem too user friendly.

Paranoid about updates that take ages to install for some unknown reason and lock up the pc while installing and included extras that MS want to make you use, while spying on you. Nah, Win 10 is great.

I use both, 7 @home. 10 @work.

There are two reasons I hate 10:

The UI... better than 8, but not by much. I hate the "flat" look. I detest it. A button should fucking look like a button. Not like some random text.
The spying and patronizing. "We are getting things ready for you". Who the fuck is "we". This is my computer - my very own brain extension - I want no Borg collective messing with it. And that's what it is really. 2020 my main priductive system will be Linux. Some Windows will be kept for gaming and nothing else.

I haven't had any problems on Windows 10. All my GOG games have launched and run flawlessly so far.
Using 8.1 with Classic Shell just to get a few more years in. And a few other modifications I can't really recall, right now.
Other than some past update randomness, which has seen much improvement, I haven't really had any issues with Win10 since I've been using it for the last 3+ years. *shrug* I'll never get the avid paranoia/angst gripping some people.
I'd be happy to keep a networkless install of Windows 7 around for single player games.

I wouldn't trust it to be connected to the internet for multiplayer games though.

I've had a few games on Windows 10 that needed third party patches to work properly (Dracula 3, Nox). I haven't found anything unplayable yet.
I´m running Win 7 from the beginning without any updates at all (except Service Packs). Never had a single problem.
Disable automatic updates and have SP1 installed, and have had no issues myself.

Heard Windows 10 every other week they push a mandatory upgrade that breaks something. Or i've seen with streamer, it ate up his bandwidth and made his streaming go to a crawl. Also i just don't trust Microsoft.

Course Windows 7 is the last version of windows i will ever touch. And i bet Windows 7 will continue to work for 10 years after. If i can no longer use Windows 7, i will go exclusively Linux. My laptop after the harddrive died, went Linux Mint. No issues so far. :)

I'm quite mad; rather than stay in the Windows Ecosystem, I've gone full Linux.

If i could play a number of games and the hardware support was better...
People who say "Windows 10 has problems with older games" never really give examples. Which games did you have issues with?

I've been on Windows 10 since the day it came out and have never had one issue with a game caused by it.
