Contrary to some reports (e.g. from Gamasultra and this forum), Telltale are *not* shutting down.

As good GoG denizens, you should already have all your Telltale game installers downloaded, so in the event there was a real shutdown and maybe a buyout that resulted in the games being removed from GoG, your puchases would not be affected.

If you've bought the games they aren't removed from your library. For example I've got the Chronicles of Riddick in my library even though it isn't available any more.

GOG (and Steam for that matter) do not remove games from player's libraries. Any such games are simply pulled from the storefront, where they aren't sold any more. So, I guess it's more about quickly purchasing telltale's titles, lest they get removed for sale. ^_^

Ermm...it's rare but it does happen, on the Steam front at least - The devs of the game "Butcher" just pulled the Linux version of the game from Steam.

Going by all the info going around, it seems they went from 250 to 25 employees and will be finishing the final Season of The Walking Dead. They're not closing yet, but it may not be far off either.

According to USGamer, The Walking Dead team are also... *walking* off the job. (Sorry!)

The Minecraft Story Mode project for Netflix appears to be the only project left in development.

All reports and note from ceo is that they are in fact shutting down. terminated all development of games and only staff of 25 people stays on helping to shut down the company.

its... sad. They were sortof for past 5 years a big part of pc gaming. and now this is so sudden (but apparently some people expected that as they struggle with mismanagement for years)

not that i really played their games.

Well what did they expect when they overcharge people for their games I wasn't about to pay AUD $49.99 for the first part in a series!

So yeah they kind of brought it on themselves.

If they had charged people a REASONABLE amount like $24.99 for each part I might of actually bought what amounts to an interactive graphical novel with some actual gameplay elements thrown in.

So glad I grabbed the mobile game stranger things though!

No.. I don't think that is going to happen, didn't like the series much anyway got 1 and 400 days it's really quite annoying actually!

It's not like the telltale series is not going to be sold elsewhere!

So I take it their risky move with expensive properties didn't pan off. Shame, really as I was really looking forward for Wolf among us 2 and the second installment of the only on incarnation of Borderlands I've liked.

Yes, and Harmony Gold is all but dead in name as well.

If it looks like a corpse, smells like a corpse, and occasionally grunts, I'm going to doubt the corpse like object to be classed as living.

These numbers probably didn't help.
