I don't want to start an entire new thread for this question, so I hope it's okay to ask here. How is Desura able to offer DRM free titles when you have to install the client? Or maybe you don't have to? It's not exactly clear to me :(

Edit: Never mind. There's a direct download link when you click "install game" at the top of the game card. They must really want you to install the client if they obfuscate it so...

I look at it as a delivery vehicle, it can download and install the games, it does not include an offline/online requirement nor does the program itself need to be running in order to play the games.
Also some of the devs list a link to their website which actually might have a download of the game.

For the majority of the games just add /download to the end of the game page url and the download options are all listed there.

If you add /keys at the end of the url instead you can see the current desura key+name of where it came from (not always one that makes sense though) and any extra Steam keys that come with the game and are distributed by Desura. I actually got a Steam key I didn't even know came with the game looking there once.
