Agreed, and looking at the video, if it didn't have the System Shock name to it, there wouldn't be anything to make this game stick out among the other scifi horror games. The main thing this video showed was progress being made with the new engine which I am happy to see. They have a lot more work to go to make this game stand out, especially in the visuals department. Just using the System Shock brand will only take them so far.

If you dig the sequel, you'll find some enjoyable features in the game. :)

I say this was a good call. Unity engine on that demo made the whole game look pix elated on the blood and other textures. Using Unreal Engline 4 is going to be great for many reasons a few which are Future compatibility with new hardware and Operating systems. and the fact that the engine can use lower end hardware and achieve such amazing visuals. Look at unreal tournament alpha as an example. A gtx 960 can max it out and it looks stunning maxed out.

Makes this even more of a treat when it comes out and love the new cleaner look to the game now :)

ps that melee attacking in the new trailer for unreal engine 4 looks spotty but I hope they fix that...

if it did or not unity is pretty bad in the performance department so seeing this news thing from you is good news haha

Yes the freezing thing seems new. I dig the idea of more environmental interaction and although I love citadel station some elements are not translating well to this new era we live. For instance grainy vhs tape like security footage it's unlikely to be found on a space station, hell not even cctv. A hologram type of thing like the one seen on Prometeus movie or new doom would make a bit more sense..
The game original engine was a tech achievement on itself, I'd love to see something of equal impact to the genre. UE4 has great potential and I hope they exploit it to the max.

Also I don't dig much shodan apperance on the last shot of the trailer or the VA. why changing that element?
