Gog making partially unwelcome changes and going totally overboard with their PR and so on ... there were quite some reasons to complain recently.

But then there are the positive exeriences which restore the balance. A developer who not only releases for Linux (as every developer should) but also provides a demo (as every developer should) and even responds to customer questions in a timely and friendly fashion. I'm talking of Clarus Victoria and their recent release of Predynastic Egypt. So the game even has a fresh setting and it is turn-based strategy to boot.

So I thought I'd get an extra copy of the game just to support the dev and I'm going to give that copy away.

How do you enter? Easy: just say that you are in and share some nice fact or story about predynastic Egypt. Don't know anything about that? No problem. Make something up!

(but it would be nice if you tell us whether your fact was made up or true after the GA ends)

This GA is closed now.

My favorite fact about predynastic Egypt is that people were primarily left-handed! Hard to believe, but true™! It was the Pharoahs who for religious reasons forced everyone to become right-handed. And that is why we are right-handed to this very day!

So now you know. And knowing is half the battle!

I'm in, please!
Ah ! It's nice to see some Predynastic Egypt love ! I already got the game but I appreciate the gesture. Hope it will lead to more people buying the game =)
I'm in please.

Ancient egyptian also got bored and have a lot of spare time too. One way to fill it up is to eat a lot of meat, consume a lot of sweet treats like honey and chugging beers. This is why lots of pharaohs got traces of diabetes and obesity. And (cause this a gaming forum) they also playing their own board game. One called Senet and there are others too like Mehen.

I'm in please.

I just read about the release and am an old TBS gamer. This one looks interesting, and it is nice to see a dev who releases for Linux and is interested in communicating with the players. :)

It was known that Pharaohs of Egypt kept cheetahs and leopards and trained them to hunt, but archeologists have now found that the partnership of predynastic Egyptians and these big cats was formed long before Egyptians settled along the Nile. The Egyptian ancestors once occupied the Saharan grasslands west of the Nile where they had what archeologists believe were seasonal villages and where the hunting partnerships with the big cats first came into the culture - long before they domesticated dogs.
Thanks a lot, I'm in

I'll share a fact that is somehow connected with predynastic Egypt, namely about the game which also covers this era - Pharaoh and Cleopatra. In 2001 Polish Ministry of National Education put these two games (along with Zeus: Master of Olympus) on a official list of teaching aids. I still think it was awesome - you can really learn a lot of history by playing this games, missions briefing are quite accurate so you can get the feeling why a particular city was founded and how the center of the kingdom was moving from a city to city. It was very nice to see that some politicians finally appreciated video games and stopped treating them as evil incarnate.
I am not in, but would like to push Project Warlock. The dev is friendly, responding to comments on the forum and providing fixes. The game is very good as well. Shame it got buried by the let's get more people onto Gwent.
Not in. But kudos for the Giveaway.

The game looks interesting though.
Well, the way I remember it, the aliens forced the ancient Egyptians to build these pyramids in slave labour. BUT an anthropomorphized dog and a rabbit thingie traveled through time and set things right. Or wrong, according to the alien population.

(Not in. But yeah. Ample need to signal to developers there's a fanbase here that still needs them to release games)

I'm in:

Egypt was founded when two kingdoms of the Nile - Upper and Lower was conquered by Lower Kingdom. Ever since then Pharaons of the Egypt wore a symbols of Upper and Lower Kingdoms on their crown.
I suppose this is more of a (wrong) fact, but I'm short of stories and don't wan to invent one.
Not in. +1
Not in, but thanks a lot for the giveaway.

Glad to read people trying to... lift up the spirits in this place.

:-)
Not in but just because it is absolutely not my genre however kudos and +1 for the giveaway and what has been said in the OP. Please let me add that the devs from Project Warlock, Foxtail and Candleman also are pretty amazing in my experience.
Bravo, Lifthrasil!

Thank you for giving away a game that was just released on GOG and showing your support for the project (and devs) you like.

Not in, good luck to those who are. :)
